Like he put himself in there. He's right, I immediately thought of Ali. Hopkins puts himself repeatedly in these situations. When Ali was washed up and had Parkinson's he fought gallantly and didn't try to bull such ****. It's a shame. Hopkins needs to retire. Can't believe people had him ahead of Martinez in P4P rankings. Fickle ******* you boxing fans are. Amazing.

no I went and saw it on youtube. I don't care what other people say. I saw it and after one viewing saw what happened. I have seen so many fights in my life that all I need is one viewing and it shows Hopkins falling down throwing his legs up and making a big deal about it right then. Hopkins losing his title is legit. A man quits in a prize fight he should lose his title.

 

Hopkins is not hurt. He is a master in boxing and knows how to play the game.

In a situation like this you have to take into account Hopkins' age. Perhaps this was the point where his body gave up on him. Would that happen to a young guy in his prime? Maybe, but not as likely. Chambers threw Wlad down in the same way and despite Wlad's size he was okay. Possibly because he is younger

 

If a guy is going to knee you, you block it by placing you hand in front of his knee/leg genius. How is placing your hand behind hopkins leg (which is what chad did) going to prevent you from getting kneed, you know with the knee moving forward and all?

 

Ok then,

In the post fight interview, Bernard said he told the referee he wanted to continue, but that the ref desperately wanted to end the fight. In the real world though, I certainly didn't see anything except Nard on the floor with his arms still in X formation. He didn't show anything that he wanted to continue, nor have I heard anything from him other than crying.

But he did say he that he said that he wanted to continue :nut. It's a shame we won't hear anything on video because of the noise (and the crying):yep.

 

But I will just bet he will wear a cast or a big sling in the post fight press conference just to make it all dramatic. They might overturn it and make it a NC. I hope not.
