In just under two rounds, Bernard Hopkins did the following:

1) Zilch offensively

2) Launched a flagrant headbutt in the first round

3) Jumped on Dawson's back and pushed him down

4) Jumped on Dawson's back and got tossed off

5) Probably oversold an injury


It's been a great run and I fully expect that TKO to be overturned, but Hopkins needs to step down for the good of the sport.

 

His nuthuggers display in the last hour kinda mirrors his in ring performance.

I don't think it's fair to Hopkins to accuse him of quitting or acting, he doesn't seem the type. That said, it was an annoying end to the fight, I wish they would have given him a few minutes to at least see if he could recover.

 

I could be wrong but I don't think the TKO can be overturned.

Not by a joint house-senate resolution.

Not by Barak.

Not by the UN.


What will likely happen is that the WBC will order a rematch.

Please God, no. Let Hopkins have his title back and move back to FNF. He's finished as an attraction.

I think they'll reverse that decision fairly quickly. Everyone saw what happened, though. Hopkins is notorious for this **** and tonight he embarrassed himself.

What exactly did Dawson do in two rounds.

1. Not punch.

2. Body Slam Hopkins.

I don't understand what people saw. Nothing had happened. Hopkins had landed 11 punches, Dawson had landed eight.

Then Hopkins got dumped to the canvas and his shoulder dislocated.

Confirmed.

I know people don't like Hopkins, but if this was any other fighter people wouldn't be reacting this way.

I love Hopkins (in part BECAUSE of the following traits and his unapologetic demeanor) but he has always been a bit of a sore loser and a total opportunist.

He's what pro wrestling fans would call a classic heel. He's boxing's Ric Flair.
