Valero would've knocked Linares out in less than 2 rounds.

And Amir Khan's glass jaw would've shattered sitting at ringside from just watching Valero.

    RIP. :|

Valero pitched a shutout vs Demarco. Made him quit. Valero used to beat up Linares in sparring when they were fighting under the teiken banner and living in Japan.

Valero is also a murdering ******* and is no longer relevant on any level.

Valero would've probably turned out better than many, including myself, thought. I just hate saying good things about his ability because of how much of an disgusting animal he was as a person.

Demarco showed a tremendous chin in both fights. Valero was P4P one of the biggest punchers in the sport and scored the stoppage win on accumulation damage as Damarco was forced to retire on his stool after the 9th round. It wasn't as if Edwin knocked his head off.

I dunno why you're saying 'turned out'... ever since Dougie Fischer first spotted him he was known to be a ****ing beast. He brutalized Antillon in sparring, gave EM all he wanted.

His wife should have left him, he should have been locked up in a high security insane asylum and only allowed out on fight night. Like Ayala and Ibeabuchi, you can only speculate on what might have been.

Linares, for all his beautiful technical skills, just doesn't seem to be able to hurt top of the line fighters. He landed flush dozens and dozens of times on DeMarco and never even discouraged him. When DeMarco and Valero got into exchanges DeMarco got the hell out of harm's way and started jabbing, with Linares, he just stood there and ate the shots.

So was Monzon. What's your point exactly? We all know that out of the ring Valero was a scumbag. He was still my fave fighter when he was alive.

I said "turned out" going on nothing but what we saw in the ring, ignoring his troubled personal life and problems. He probably would've gotten a bit better/more polished with more experience and he seemed to have real mental fortitude in the ring. Of course, it wasn't meant to be.

According to most sources he was on the decline, if anything. Getting sloppy and STILL good enough to treat DeMarco like an everyday humdrum opponent. He was originally considered to be incredibly slick with Hamed type power. IMHO his mental state was deteriorating quickly and it affected his boxing as well as his personal life.

Demarco never quit and there is no quit in him. I am a massive Valero fan as a boxer and he beat the **** out of Demarco but the kid wanted to fight his corner stopped it

Valero had an incredible power and Demarco has a very good chin. Linares had some punch as Demarco face was quite marked by the punches by the 4th round
