maybe he is hurt...but in case you missed his antics which he admitted to in the 2nd jones fight when rolling around in "pain" from suspect low blows...what do you expect people to think?
and he prob is hurt..but wouldnt you expect a guy once in a while to get up and still be hurt without crying like baby rolling around like that? ive fallen off an 8 foot later on to a hardwood flloor and didnt flop around like that and wasnt hurt...tough as nails hopkins just looks like a ****ing baby sometimes..

 

I expected Dawson to get far more criticism as well. I suppose because of Hopkins history, and the fact that he's unpopular for being the "tough guy" that criticizes other athletes (Said McNabb was too soft or something) that he's the one getting far more unwarranted heat. The ending sucks, but I don't get why the guy that's gotten injured is the scapegoat. Some people don't think Dawson fouled, and most think Hopkins faked it. Craziness.

 

he has a SEPARATED shoulder. that's not the big shoulder joint. its the AC joint that joins your clavicle to the front notch of your shoulder that is disrupted. its a diagnosis done through physical examination and in this case, they had an x-ray as well.

 

You can't say that for sure... That was a SD and BHOP had many sports news outlets giving him the nod.. Not the same situation.

 

In the nearly 2 rounds that they fought, there is'nt any question that Hopkins knew right off the bat in that first round he was'nt dealing with a Kelley Pavlik or Pascal type.

Chad Dawson when motivated is the goods. Dawson is a complete fighter who's faster and stronger than old man Hopkins.
Thats reason enough for Hopkins to quit right there.

My feeling is that Hopkins had already calculated off the brief exchanges that Dawson knew how to box and knew what he was doing, and so when the chance came that he took a fall, he took advantage of the situation and decided to stay down and not bet beat by the younger, faster, and now more capabable young man.

Anyone thats watched Hopkins shenanigans throughout his career are not shocked tonight by his quitting antics.

If you would have told me this morning that you thought Hopkins would find a way out and quit by faking an injury, I'd have told you, "that sounds like Hopkins."

 

You obviously have no clue, or prefer to just put blinders on and not acknowleadge Hopkins history of such shenanigans.

Max Kellerman who btw thought the fight should have been ruled a no-contest, confronted Hopkins on the issue of his past history of faking injuries and Hopkins straight out did'nt want to talk about it.

 

A man with a history of crying wolf, is'nt to be believed.

I haven't seen the fight yet, but Hopkins whole career tells me he wouldn't ***** his way out of a fight.

Yes 2 competitive rounds was enough to make Hopkins decide to quit but being dropped twice early on but Pascal apparently wasn't enough to convince him to quit. atsch

 

Hopkins very well could have a dislocated shoulder. My brother dislocated his and it wasn't the kind with the bone sticking out. Yes he has cried wolf before and I think he faked his ass off several times in the Jones fight but he could be hurt from a dislocated shoulder.

 

no kidding....wheres the medical reports the 49 times he was thrown down or hit "low" by jones in fight 2, wincing in pain...only to admit it later as part of the strategy....so forgive people for thinking a guy is full of **** when he was full of **** last time he did it...
if you cry and roll and do all that and keep getting up..then must not have been too bad... he prob is hurt, but ****, isnt he a little tougher than that to act like he was power slammed by a 300 pound pro wrestler? hard as nails..prison tough/hard for 6 years...to acting like that?

Even if it was a genuine injury you can't blame people to reacting the way they are. Hopkins is always play acting.

I reckon he has damaged it for real.
