"Bernard Hopkins has been released from the California Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles after being x-rayed and examined by Dr. Sam Thurber, MD who diagnosed Hopkins with a separation of the acromioclavicular (A-C) joint which connects the collar bone and shoulder blade." So that's the juice, although **** knows what it really means. Sounds bad.
Should have been ruled a NC. Hopkins, who seems to have faked injuries before, also should have made an effort to get up and show toughness regardless of the foul.
Dawson should be allowed to keep the title. This is similar in a way to LaMotta-Cerdan as Cerdan went down from Jake wrestling him to the canvas and a shoulder injury occured...and Cerdan quit in his corner from it. Order a rematch and let Dawson destroy Hopkins anew. Dawson, lke I've said over and over again to the hordes of Hopkins fan boys in the general forum, is the REAL DEAL..and it would be a circus..a travesty to overturn this tko verdict. Dawson is the champ..he joins LaMotta and Ali in becoming champion vs opponents with shoulder injuries.
The problem with this injury is that it has a clasification apparently - so although it sounds horrible, a mild one is actually nothing to worry about, though it feels weird. The heaviest classification requires surgery.
Yes...it's a different sort of injury, but no matter..Hopkins couldn't continue and he deserves to be a tko loser.
That is the lowest available dosage of Vicodin, but it is apparently used to treat "very severe pain."
Agreed on both counts The thing is, wouldn't he be able to persuade a friendly doctor to give that diagnosis?
Yeah, I think so, with cash. On the other hand, if you push of with that, where does it end? It ends with you diagnosing Hopkins via pictures on tv. There are loads of people doing that. In the end, I have to trust the doctor. Hopefully there will be a little more.
happy:happy Although it's not finally yet . RJJ has a KO win over Hopkins in their rematch as well . As shot as he was .
The interesting thing will be how he recovers. My grandad suffered a dislocated shoulder went to the hospital, got it put back in, but now it pops out all the time and it can't be set. But a physio told him if he came to him straight away with it he could have fixed it. Didn't Harding dislocate his shoulder against Jones or was it a rotator injury? Harding was never the same after that Allot of people here don't believe BHOPs and I understand why, but I don't think he'd pull out so early.
Dawson did nothing wrong, just getting the parasitic Hopkins off of his back. This boxing, not tiddlywinks...a little rough stuff goes on like shoving, pushing, etc., Hopkins is too old and fragile to withstand that sort of thing..and I hope the tko stands. Let a rematch happen and Chad will retire Hopkins for good. This is total BS if the verdict is overturned.
On a side note, how the hell did Kellerman give the first round to Hopkins, when all he did was try two right hands (which failed to land cleanly) while Dawson clearly outjabbed him and outflurried him?? :roll:atsch
I scored the round for Dawson, but compubox apparently returned the same number of landed punches for each fighter. It may have been a round with a different complexion from ringside based upon what is coming out of the venue.
