I M disturbed by d topic of this thread since its inception :
Boxing's greatest tragedy is reserved 4 Salvador Sanchez .
And then McClellan and then it starts 2b competitive .

That is a brain dead statement,..... maybe Mexico's biggest tragedy........ Why not mention Pancho Villa ?............ Next time I hope to see a better effort from you.

Darcy Niland was born the year this event took place. If you think he is a first hand source I wouldnt try making it through college, you wont get far.

A child living as neighbor to Greb will undoubtabley become severly crossed wired over years of repeating many misconstrued stories. Those stories, as with a standard lie, become believable to the person if repeated time over.

Even if Darcy lived 2 more years he would have achieved what Sanchez achieved . Sanchez was cleaning his strong division and was about to complete it . It's hard 2 argue that Darcy even started .
4 d same amount of time Sanchez was way more proven and if he looked less impressing on film then it's only because he fought much better opponents . Darcy becomes d new Billy Conn of d board . Y not some1 start a new Conn vs Darcy thread ?

Why not talk of the two fighters? Each of equal age. Each man facing many mutual opponents. Those mutual opponents suffered with certain severety in favour of Darcy. Chip for one defeated Greb. Months later, Darcy plastered leather to the demise of Chip. On film, this fight shows a teasingly playful Darcy. Crouse is shown to head many terms for aggressive too and fro in this forum. Why? A clear indication of his strength tells when boxing Greb. Harry threw a thousand fists to take the fight out of Crouse in Six rounds. Darcy threw a sum of 3 hearty blows. Crouse fell quicker than Saddam from the gallows. A common sense approach hinders this debate.

This post was very good,.... you and I saw the same Chip fight that's for sure and Crouse simply buckled against Darcy,........ And Alex Costica predicted it, and Costica had a first hand view of Darcy.

is this darcy appreciation month? to be fair, i thought he was receiving his (relatively) fair dues on the forum.

there are always going to be those who over and under estimate fighters. just as there will always be those who over and under estimate every great fighter or great mystery. darcy is both

in the end, it's fair to say he had fantastic potential and could have been great but didn't receive a chance to prove it.

There probably was never a boxer who was'nt overrated by many,... and underrated by many, and loved by some,.... or not liked..... way it is all the time.
