No one can fathom that a 47 year old man fell hard and awkwardly on his back and hurt his shoulder. It's the paranoid style of ESB.

The reason a lot of people where mad at first was because when they saw Bernard go down like that, they thought it was just Bernard being Bernard like he did vs Roy and Calzaghe just playing it off worse than it was so he can get some time.
I thought he was doing the same thing here, but except the ref didn't give him 5 minutes, he just called the fight off.

I don't really know what to say about the outcome, I'm not too mad at Hopkins right now

 

ESB is very weird. I was even surprised that most people even Floyd haters backed Floyd vs Ortiz.
Then in Martinez's last fight, I come on and see people saying Baker quit :-( I thought they would be giving him props

 

I get the idea early on the Dawson didn't want to mess with the holding or headbutts every time Hopkins came in close. Hopkins fights like that, a lot, but Dawson was managing to shove him off and get some shots in. So after Hopkins missed the right, and basically is falling on top of Dawson from above, Chad got pissed and tossed him down.

Hopkins probably was hurt, but his prescription of a 5 mg pain pill seems a bit weak. I really think he could have gone on with the fight. The ref, however, never gave Hopkins the chance it seems. I think Hopkins was trying to get points taken away from Dawson at least, and was maybe playing up his injury a bit, though he may have been a bit hurt.

The ref pretty much saw Hopkins not trying to get up or do anything. Rather than going to physically ask Hopkins if he can continue, he just seems to call a TKO and have everything done and done.

Disappointment to say the least...
