That's very unfair IMO. He has been blowing everyone away so far. It's only Groves (himself a prospect) and Petey (30 odd fight record, one defeat, European champ) that has given him trouble

I am a fan of James Degale but ye I agree he did not improve from the Grove fight
and he had alot of time to work on it he had a long work camp and claim he had alot of sparing, improvement did not show at all he needs a new trainer like freddy roach or he will never never win a world title, Bute would put him out in 2 rounds.

Well he landed more clean punches at a higher percentage for starters..

:good That pretty much sums Degale up, I talk about him changing trainers which could work but there's no guarantee, all in all I think Degale is not an intelligent fighter and Im not sure of him being capable of adding that to his game no matter who trains him. Only time will tell I suppose.

He knocked Dilks out in the first (there was no complaints for Dilks at the stoppage), Sam Horton was stopped, Paul Smith lost every round against him.

It wasn't a bull**** stoppage. Dilks was just out of his depth. Degale isn't a concussive puncher, so I doubt he devastatingly blows out many opponents. He let fire with a flurry, Carl didn't punch back, and he was stopped without once complaining to the referee that it was premature.

James spends to much time trying to look the part rather then fighting the fight IMO. He lacks a strong trainer who would tell him straight! stop poncing about and work.

I remember a few lads on here after he beat Sam Horton that he needed to settle on one style and i still believe this. I wasn't impressed with his footwork either last night it was just a really poor display in many parts but also brought out some positives although not sorta positives you wanna see if you don't have to.

Groves showed how to beat him. I can't see him world title at smw.

Dilks was beaten before the bell rang, he knew it and didn't fancy the job, It wasn't Degales skill that stopped him in the first, it was Dilks being mentally beaten before the fight began, when Degale fought Groves who wasn't fazed by the hype, Degale was clueless and lost. He is massively flawed IMHO.

I just dont see that hes got the desire to do whatever it takes to get to the very top. I dont know enough about it to say that Jimmy mac is a yes man or not. But it looks like Degale would be happy with that style of trainer.
