I'll probably mute it. I've seen his fight with Rocky something and just a few highlights. Well, instead of insulting my knowledge, why not explain and tell me why I'm wrong. Wouldn't exactly take long to tell me If I'm so wrong.
Based on the posts, I may have been swayed with his flashiness . I'll check back as soon as it's finished downloading!
And the 'This' was a response to me being irked by the high levels of praise being heaped on him, AGAIN, even when he's lost.
Jpab, trust me. The HBO commentary is unbelievably bad. Did you see the Manmy Steward quote I posted in Addies thread in the general? I couldn't believe what I was listening too, it was that bad.
Sorry, Laz, it's not you pal, I've been goof back-and-forth on Linares for years :good 'Pab was agreeing with me on the post he's has quoted of himself, so I agree with him, read that to see where I'm coming from:thumbsup
No, what was it? I don't frequent the general at all anymore. Bob was offering gems, ''both of these guys are great boxers(yes, he included DeMarco in that), two of the best fighters in the sport who are ranked #1 and #2 in the division.''
''He seems to be one of the most fantastic boxers I've ever saw in my life'' -Manny Steward after one round of Linares/DeMarco.
Lazarus can't be ****in' serious with that "Rocky something" shite. I pretty much agree with everything Flea Man has said. Linares throws flash combinations but there's so many more things involved in professional prizefighting. Intangibles, ability to defend yourself, temperament, toughness, punch resistance, etc. I would say Linares is a very fine offensive fighter, but all things considered, he can't really be considered a special talent. A special talent would have found a way to win irrespective of the cut.
HBO compared him to Sugar Ray Robinson aswell. I was too shocked to laugh at that one. Something about him being a tall, fast fighter reminded them of the (arguable) GOAT Ray Robinson - I wonder what it was exactly?
