Marquez has great pin point uppercuts landed great ones on Katsidis and koed Juan Diaz with one but my pick has to go to Zab Judah [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLNXjHdWBpw[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90LAdTFT2YU[/ame]
Marquez, I think he's more versatile with it. Judah has that dangerous counter left uppercut, but Marquez can lead with the left uppercut, throw uppercuts in the middle of a combo, and be very effective with the uppercut with either hand.
good point it Marquez seems to have more power in his but Judah just looks so damn slick when he does it!
Judah's uppercut is the better single punch, but JMM's uppercut is way more versatile and consistant. Against quality opposition JMM's uppercut is the bigger threat.
Just to give some visual examples: You see him lead with a left uppercut at the :12 mark that hurts Jandaeng (see the replay at :48). He drops him with another left uppercut shortly after. At the 1:58, Marquez is backing up, and at a farther distance, but still manages to get the lead left uppercut in. He does this again at 2:12, 2:45 At 2:31, he again gets the lead uppercut in, but this time it's a right uppercut, and leads to a KD. At 2:02, 2:15, and the finish at 3:10, shows how good he is at getting the uppercut in while throwing a combination. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFXnuY7E27U[/ame] Of course it helps that Marquez is just plain a better fighter than Judah, but having more dimensions to his uppercut is why I'd pick his over Zab's.
Good call. Both have great uppercuts, though. But yes, JMM seems to be able to use it with more variety.
Jmm hands down he's able to throw in such a variety of different way and he's one of the few fighters who manages to get away with throwing it from a distance like when he KO'd Diaz he's smart though he knew Diaz couldn't see it coming with all the blood in his eyes.
