After last nights v.wide card I feel that the whole community of the sport should look into the incompetence of this individual. Can we all put examples of poor refereeing and/or biased scorecards. I plan to hit Bunce with this so we can debate it. Poor refereeing; Having the khan v barerra fight in my head I found this on the link above. ''Amir Khan Vs Marco Antonio Barrera 14/03/09 Barrera suffers one of the most horrendous cuts I have ever seen and cannot see through the blood. Mr Parris should have taken the decision away from the doctor as Barrera could not defend himself properly from the first round.'' I believe Barerra was no worse at time of stoppage as he was when cut first happened yet Parris aloud fight to continue so Khan would get the win as opposed to the fight being rules as an 'NC'. Biased Scorecards or just plain damn wrong; Shinny Bayaar v Ashley Sexton. He had it 116-112 when it was clear as glass that Bayaar won let alone drew. Poor judging from Paris, let's see he had Hernandez up 58-55 against Cunningham, 115-114 to Curtis Woodhouse against Frankie Gavin, Sexton up 116-112 against Bayaar, Jamie McDonnell up 117-112 against Ian Napa, Rafal Jackiewicz up 115-112 against Delvin Rodriguez and oh so many more examples of **** judging on his part.
Good start. Many more to come no doubt. I remember a show not so long back where he was laughing with Barry Maguigan. Lets say he judges a Frampton fight, is it possible to expect his scorecard to be fair?
Although I agree with the title of this thread, and last night was obviously the straw that broke the camels back. I don't think Dave Parris is soley responsible for state of British boxing, although he is up there for example last weeks ludicrous stoppage of Rafal Jackiewicz and Sky telling everyone what a great stoppage it was. No one is being fooled by these decisions or commentary not the general public or the fight fan. The only thing being acheived rigt now is the general public being put off the sport and the fight fans getting pissed off.
When a fighter is hurt and cant defend themselves adequately then a stoppage is due. Nowadays if a fighter takes a solid punch the ref is looking to stop the fight. They seem too willing to pull a fighter out of there for me. I like to see a fighter finished before the ref comes in. Back to Parris though cos I wanna get this debated on bunce's bbc radio show. He has had too long a run for me now which I want to contribute to putting an end to.

He done a **** job on Steve Cunningham V Yoan Pablo Hernadez last week. Scored Murat V Campillo a draw when it was a clear verdict for Campillo theres three **** rsults in a fortnight I still think Ian Jon Lewis is worse though
I wouldn't mind if this guys opinion didn't count for much i.e esb writer. But this guys opinion cost fighter's a 'L' on their record and hurt earning potential. He is a danger, a true danger to the sport. MOTD absolutely condemn bad refereeing and the F.A demote refs down league. Whereas in boxing nout changes and this idiot get's another chance to do the same. Criminal, absoutely criminal! He should be BANNED just like Cortez should in USA as well.
Yep, Danny always seemed to get screwed by Parris. Any time i hear "split decision" I already know who has gone against the grain.

I do not see much proof here, just speculation and personal opinion. Boxing is always going to be a pretty subjective sport, and although I do not doubt for one second, Dave has had some pretty bad days at the office, I think he is honest man, and was trying his best. Overall Parris has been a credit to the sport, for every bad night, there have been tens of good nights, that do not get reported because he was that good. A referee who does a good job, generally goes unnoticed...
