I like. Juan diaz vs JMM first fight. Madania vs khan. Katistis vs JMM. Margo vs pacman. Paulie M vs diaz both fights were good. More good fights but the bad ones leave a shitty taste in your mouth
Ufc is slipping a little. Not hyped up like it used to be but still a big draw. More money in boxing by far. HW in the states are coming. 2012 wilder and mitchell should have a good year and fight some goid comp. And its not the usa doesnt have HWs. They all just got KTFO or destroyed.
Many of us already pay $100-$200/month for premium cable ... So when it comes to live, unscripted sports events, I think PPV oughta be illegal ...! This content is protected
I dont think that overall boxing is in a bad state but it has had its issues. My main irritation with boxing is the overhyping of fighters. Just plain good fighters are labled as elite or superstar mega star or some other old bull**** name. Fighters lose fights and thier next fight is for a championship. what kind of **** is that. Unless a champion loses a fight and has a rematch clause , every number one contender who loses to the champ should go to the end of the line and fight his way back into contention. Really good fighters never get a shot because of politics and we end up watching retreads fight over and over. Now dont get me wrong, there are some elite fighters out there but I havent seen a superstar yet. Superhype but not superstar.:bbb:bbb:bbb
I think there's been a lot of great fights since then. Cotto-Torres, Corrales-Castillo 1, Sithchawal-Monishpour, Vazquez-Marquez 1-3 (before the 4th, I thought you could make a strong case as it being the best trilogy on film ever for action and drama), Pavlik-Taylor 1, Margarito-Cotto, Liakhovich-Brewster, Casamayor-Katsidis, Marquez-Diaz 1. I do think boxing is in a slump, technical skills are down, some of the best matchups (namely one big fight that is long overdue) haven't taken place, but there's still great fights taking place. With the way boxing is, I think there will always be terrific fights with action and drama.
For a heavyweight fight I will agree both were showing some really good defense not seen much at that weight, but more was expected from Haye and it was obvious he could of done alot more, but knew nothing, but to throw a hayemaker at a time. Wlad looked sharp, if anyone was to blame for a lackluster performance it was Haye.
forget the blanket statement where you are equating good match ups...sad state of boxing means This content is protected Gennady Golovkin - WBA World middleweight champ Felix Sturm - WBA Super World super middleweight champ Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam - interim WBA World middleweight champ no one ever knows who the real champion is..not even boxing fans
Personally, I don't wanna hear about Pacquaio-Mayweather anymore and I'll resign myself to accept that it's never gonna happen ... Call me when it does ... Until then, I wanna see Manny Pacquiao fight Sergio Martinez at a Catch-150 ... and, I wanna see Floyd fight Amir Khan at 140 ... Boxing promoters should stop farting around with this over-hyped billion dollar "maybe" and focus on the wealth of potential fights worth promoting ... This content is protected
Dmitry Pirog - WBO middleweight champ Gennady Golovkin - WBA World middleweight champ Felix Sturm - WBA Super World super middleweight champ Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam - interim WBA World middleweight champ Sergio Martinez - WBC Diamond middleweight champ JC Chavez Jr - WBC middleweight champ VACANT - WBC Silver middleweight title Daniel Geale - IBF World middleweight champ 8 lil belts, 7 fighters....and none will face each other...thats whats wrong with BOXEO
Who cares? Why do you recognize a bunch of title holders when you should know that this division has only one real champion.
who cares? no one, PERIOD...thats why they have them. yeah that one "real champion" you mention is ****ing weak as counter point...everyone knows who the champ is between pac and floyd? thats only 2 people....not picking from 8 atsch just because you think you know who is the best...thats a stupid argument...all those 8 belts i mentioned mean one thing...its keeps the best from fighting each other...thats what that means..thats why you should give a ****..."well we know who the real champ is, so who cares if sturm fights sergio" come on man :huh
You listed one of the few divisions that has an undisputed champion. Nearly 10k posts and you are going to claim that you don't know who the current mw champ is?
Stop being a whiny little *****! Boxing always has ups and downs and always will. For every **** fight there is 2 decent fights. Just gotta watch out for them. Boxing will always have fans and it will always have money.
and I hope people stop talking about how UFC and MMA are "dominating" because there is not one person on the street that I have met who knew a UFC champion. If you go into the 1970's and say who is the heavyweight champion, everyone would know. Dana white and his ***** fighting is going down. the fad is slipping away.
