Will the Hopkins-Dawson decision be overturned?

Originally I though the ref had it half right....no foul, but accidental nonboxing injury. Half right b/c it should have been a NC.

But upon slomow review and full speed replay, it is obvious that Chad didn't simply shrug him off and cause his fall......he picked him up and slammed him down.

Whatever, but that's basically what happened. Hopkins lunged forward over top of Dawson's back. Dawson just kinda bumped him off. Can't really call it an illegal tactic. Hopkin's dirty tactic just happened to backfire on him, as did Ortiz's, so there. Chew on that.

Tell me about it. All you can do is call it as you see it. The last two big PPV's have ended with controversy, but everyone acts like they have the goddamn facts in each situation. Whether you like it or not, Ortiz didn't defend himself and Hopkins put himself in a position to risk injury. He leaned over Dawson big time. Dawson just bumped him off and voila, injury.

 

Should take it as face value, It was clearly an illegal foul and should be ruled an NC.

Dawson also has a right to be angry at Hopkins, I play rugby and that looked like a softass landing. Even for a reptile like BHOP

Decision wont be overturned, that almost never happens...

 

WBC rules state that if a fighter can't continue if no foul is committed then he loses by TKO. The ref did his job, Hopkins couldn't continue so he lost. Why won't boxing fans understand there has been plenty of boxers who got up from way worse knockdowns and injuries and continued fighting. Hopkins quit.

dont agree, he does put his glove behinde hi leg but does not lift him up, b-hop jumps on his back as he alway does as to put all his weight on fighters, gets pushed off lands on his right foot then the acting starts, serves him right for tempting the ref as to give dawson point deduction or just play his tipicle mind games. as i said before ''the boy who cried wolf'' got bit.

 

there is a point where both his legs are in the air and the facts that he lands on a leg doesnt stop the momentum his elbow/shoulder took... i think it was a clear NC and accidental foul on both. How can you not give an "injured" (as witnessed by the fall) the benefit of the doubt if anything you always give the benefit of the doubt?... or give him 5 min to walk it off and decide then, or let the doc actually take a look. The REF had an agenda (teaching the trick master bhop a lesson)

 

who makes the decision here? the california boxing comission or wbc?

 

Hopkins didn't quit though. He told the ref he'd continue and by that point the ref wasn't having any of it (or any basic procedure for that matter) and said it was a TKO.

it better be...BS if it doesn't! IT WAS NEVER CAUSED BY A BLOW AND THE RULE STATES IT HAS TO BE CAUSED BY A PUNCH FOR A TKO.
