The winner of this fight will likely duck sergio martinez. And it took cotto 12 rounds to knock out ricardo maroyga, who is not a good fighter. The winner probably won't face a signifcant opponent for a while. And both of these guys have 2 suffered bad beatings recently and probably aren't the same fighter.

I think its VERY SIGNIFICANT for both men personally. As far as their place in the boxing world, not significant at all.

It's not really that significant but it's one of the more promising fights of the year

It's just a fun fight of 2 guys who had a decent career. Nothing significant in terms of P4P or history. Just a fun fight.

Boxing fans eager to see a boxing match...

Some people seems to love hating this sport more than watch it.

Because it is significant, now we all can see if Margo can beat Cotto without those bricks.

Do people like the thread starter actually watch boxing? I mean, do you watch a Friday Night Fights main event, or a shobox card or anything not involving Pacquiao or Mayweather?

Miguel Cotto is 16-2 in championship fights and a three weight division champion and he gets treated like a bum. It's incredible to me.

Exactly, and it's two guys whose styles mesh perfectly from a fans point of view. Is it anywhere nearly as significant for the sport as it was in 2008? No but that doesn't mean it won't be a fun tear up.

Plus it is between two fighters who have something to prove - Cotto want to show he can beat Margarito on a level playing field (in his mind) and Margarito wants to redeem himself over the handwrap scandal.
