Great clear footage. I thought all along that Hopkins quit, and called him a fake ass bum. After watching this, I stand corrected. Great video that cannot be misintepreted if you pay attention. All the tv viewers that didn't see this footage should. Great job on this video! Bernard Hopkins, my apology to you. Now, get Dawson's ass back in the ring one more time.

I was talking to a trainer at my gym and this is what he said :

"Fighters in the past have fought with similar injuries in their shoulder and only divulged the injuries after a fight or a loss .. Hopkins could have continued it would have been up to him .But lesser fighters have fought through such injuries and only complained after the fight was over "

Seems most old schoolers say yes he could have fought on ,seem more new school fans side with Hopkins .. Thats would have been up to Hopkins ..Maybe it was Hopkins ego that would not allow him to go at since he would not be at 100 % who knows .

If Hopkins body is genuinely now falling apart so easily from something so soft as that, it's best he quits for his sake and for all our sake.

bhops elbow was slamming down onto dawsons neck in that video, he shrugged him off because bhop was committing the foul. Next time don't lean on a fighters neck, hopkins got what he deserved

So, if at 3:20 in the above video Gatti had leapt forward and torn Mayweather's ACL he would have scored a stoppage?

If I'm a trainer I start teaching that right away, because similar incidents happen dozen's of times in fights. Guy fouls me, flop forward at his knee, potentially become champion.

ref dropped the ball big time on this fight. they should have asked bernard hopkins to clarify himself more instead of jumping the gun like that but he gave them mixed signals. he told them hell yeah with one arm but proceeded to whine about looking at his shoulder so he could get chad a point deduction like he always does.

I'm not talking about the punches, I'm talking about pressing his forearm down on Gatti's neck. Which is roughly the same thing Hopkins did.

Sometimes I feel like I'm hallucinating discussing things with people.

Were those fighters in bouts with opponents 20 years their junior, and if so, did they win? :patsch

Hopkins would have been allowed to continue if he'd said, "I'm fine, let's go."

He tried to hide behind his "willingness" to fight with one arm, knowing full well that by saying that they would not allow the fight to proceed.

He bitched out. Only the true believers refuse to see it.

He didn't quit but he created his own badluck without knowing it. I'm not a detractor, in fact, I'm a HUGE Hopkins fan. I believe B-Hop used of his experience to play into the head of Dawson when he had the chance like he did so many times with many of his opponents and jumped on the opportunity when he was on the floor. When he was asked if he could continue, he answered to the referee: I can continue with one hand and was probably thinking that this would be enough for the referee to let him continue to fight. The problem is that the referee didn't interprete it this way and just pulled the trigger a bit too fast. He should have warned Hopkins of his intentions. Aftershock, he had no choice to say he had an injury to not lose the face in front of the audience. The medical report...I'm not sure this is true since there is NO patient name on it and this would be illegal for the doc to that. I would have like the fight to go on but like I've said, without knowing it, Hopkins shoot himself in the foot....I've swallow my pill on this one and I hope this was not the last we saw B-Hop. I'm sure he wouldn't do the same mistake again.
