Seeing is there is alot of complaining about Chad Dawson being given a victory of Bernard Hopkins, can this forum think of instances where a fight was declared a no contest by a referee when an injury occured that was'nt visible.

When a cut occurs that a ref determines is accidental, he immediately pauses the fight and lets everyone know it came from a headbutt.........

A cut though is visible, and there is protocol that a ref follows that is in the rulebook.

What fights have been ruled no-contest when an injury occured that was'nt a cut???????

Do you know what happened in that fight cb?

Hopkins fell through the ropes while Mills Lane the referee tried to break the fighters.

Hopkins was pushed by the referee while trying to break the fighters and fell through the ropes.

In this instance the ref caused Hopkins to go through the ropes, and its why Lane ruled it a no-contest.

The ref was involved (not Allen) with Hopkins allegedly :lol:injuring himself.

Cintron vs Paul Williams was declared a TD, meaning that had it gone 2 rounds only it would have been a NC

Nice one PH|LLA, I just saw the clip on youtube

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHQA-uznuHk[/ame]

That fight wasnt ruled a no contest, but a tech decision since it had gone over 4 rounds.......

The ref used his discretion in this case and decided to send it to the scorecards.
Since it was no fault of Williams, he could have just as easily ruled the fight a TKO in favor of Willliams due to Cintron being unable to continue.

Ironicallly, like this fight with Hopkins and Dawson, most in this forum feel Cintron launched himself out of the ring to find a way out.......
.....and like Hopkins, Cintron too has a history of such shenanigans.:lol::lol:

Its nice when people can read the thread starters question and give answers based on that.

You're talking about NC fights due to testing for illegal PED's.

My thread question specifically asks to state instances of injury to a fighter that was'nt a cut and the ref ruled a NC in.

I don't think Cintron intentionally dove out of the ring. I honestly think thats one of the most ridiculous conspiracy theories in boxing. He had hurt Williams with punches just prior to William's take down. In slo mo it looks weird but in real time, you can see that Cintron had no time to make such a decision.

Look at fights like Foreman/Cotto. Foreman was OBVIOUSLY hurt there and the ref didn't stop it and decide it was a no contest.

Pascal fought Diaconu with a dislocated shoulder that they kept resetting between rounds. That wasn't a no contest.

Hopkins made the call to stop fighting. TKO.

Sorry. Pretty bad short term memory apparently :verysad. Actually read and understood it some time ago, then came back and saw some guy post such two No-contests.
