That was BS too. He fell through the ropes so fast there is no way I can think of he was "planning" it.

His career is in the toilet anyway, so I am not too upset about it.

Cintron fell out of the ring, but I do believe he tried to benefit from it by trying to get a td win or atleast a nc + easy payday.
I had him 3-1 up on the card, most people had him up, cintron probably thought so as well, thats why he was so furious hitting the ambulance and later in the hospital it turned out he was fine.
A real man would have gotten back in that ring like nigel benn who was even knocked out of it instead of fallen.

    :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

    How did that one end?
Was it ruled a no contest?

Imo the fighter who picked that guy off his feet and set him on the ring ropes should have been disqualified.

Now that scenario there was blatant and intentional.

Nice one, but was it ruled a NC?

It was weird bailey had dropped him a few times and it seemed like a matter of time before he would catch him again and finish him then he does this, like its mma.
But yeah it ended in a nd.

    Thats ridiculous.
This was a case of a fighter using both his arms, picking up another and placing him atop the ropes.
    Thats grounds for a DQ.

Btw guys, there's a good Graham Houston article over at the news site that talks about fights. Graham agrees with the ref's decision to have Dawson win by TKO, and he sites several instances where a fighter was injured during the course of a fight from something the opponent did that was something other than a punch, and the injured fighter ended up losing by tko.

Its ridiculous that people seem to think Hopkins should have say over the outcome of the fight.

    :yep

    Concerning your question:

I dont know of any instance in which a fight has been declared a no contest due to injuries that werent caused by either the opponent or the referee fouling the injured boxer.

Only heard of no-contests due to failed doping test and headbutt cuts before the fourth.

And the weird one: No-contest due to the ring collapsing :rofl (I think it was in Argentina)

But not in a No-contest ;) There are many of those kind of fights, and they always become a TKO win for the other boxer.

McCline injured his leg I believe, and Valuev was ruled a tko winner.

......another instance of a leg injury causing a fight to be stopped was the first Tszyu vs Mitchell fight.
Mitchell was outboxing Tszyu when in a mis-step he injured his knee.
Mitchell did'nt quit right then however, he continued on but could'nt use his legs to dance around Tszyu the way he had been doing, and had to quit due to his injury.
Tszyu the tko winner of course.

nah it should have been a nc, no punch lunded he injures his knee badly and it was under 4 rounds as well. I dont know why it never changed, maybe because it was the wba.
But it isnt very common in big fights for the fight to end under 4 rounds by an injury that isnt visible like a cut, maybe in some smaller fights but I dont know about it, the only recent example I can think of was vitali vs solis but vitali dropped him there first before his knee popped out.
It wasnt on a foul, other example would be the vid of ouali vs bailey I posted earlier, thats all I can think of now though.
I dont see the problem though, an injury because of dawson throwing him down, thats either a dq or technical draw(most logical of course) just like an accident headbutt stopping the fight early, like matthews vs rees last week, holy earlier this year or bradley vs campbell.

how was that BS? after 4 rounds (3 in Cali) you go to the scorecards. It's not BS.
