    We know dude.

To be fair, if Roy does fight because he has bills to pay, these are the fights he should fight, guys with no KO power.

Yeah...I understand he needs an income....he should fight a top 10 fighter again...take 2 or 3 easy fights and get out with a little bit of money...Roy did a lot and there won't be another like him for a long time

if its really about money he should fight featherfisted bums and journeyman more often than the occasional toplevel fighter.
I still feel he just cant call it quits rather than him being broke, he should have a good sum of money left.

Whats even sadder about this is that Jones is a fighter that when in his prime voiced he was well concious that overstaying your welcome in boxing could be harmful to his health.

Roy Jones after seeing the situation with so many old time past fighters was very concerned about overstaying his welcome and vowed not to let that happen to him.

DLH in his prime voiced similar sentiments to Jones.

Unfortunately both Jones it seems it fighting on, and even DLH has been rumored to want to make a comeback.:-(

With DLH's situation, it goes to show that these guys overstaying their welcome is'nt all about money.
DLH has everything he could ever spend in several lifetimes and he makes more promoting than he ever could as a fighter.

Once a fighter reaches that pinnacle, its an addictive type of a high that cant be reached by substituting anything else in your life with.

There is always a voice in an out of prime fighter that tells them, you can reach that pinnacle once again.

......and even when they're not shooting for the pinnacle, they miss the limelight and adulation that comes with entering and leaving a ring victorious.

Sadly only a very select few fighters ever had the willpower to refrain from overstaying their welcome.:-(

:thumbsup The curse of success buddy.

Don't know if any of you saw it; Before Roy Jones fought Richard Hall on HBO they ran a feature on him, asking how he would be rated in History having never met the equivelent of what Hagler was to Leonard or Frazier to Ali. I can't do exact quotes my memory isn't that great, but Roy said along the lines of the following...

I'm not fighting that kind of style, people want to see me bleed, I'm too smart for that

I won't hang around too long, you're all going to remember me as one of the smartest people to ever come into this game.

Jim Lampley said during that fight that he considered Roy one of the smartest people he'd ever met, because the man had made so much money, taking so few risks. None of us saw where he'd end up.

I even read this article where roy said he wanted to retire to play basketball somewhere in the 90's yet now he is still fighting harming his health, very sad.

You guys are a bunch of blind ****s, honestly.

Dozens if not hundreds of fighters are brutally beaten on a regular basis for ****ing PEANUTS.

Not a soul on this board cares. You slobber Roy's knob because he was some kind of Superman to you as kids or when you were getting into boxing. Hero worship.

You hear anyone imploring Tye Fields to retire? ****ing dude gets brutally knocked out all the time.

It's like no one gives a **** about anyone in the sport in regards to them being damaged goods then Jones. Him and Holyfield are the primary people here.

    ******ed.
