Hamed was ****ing great for the sport. Like someone has already said, I don't know why people come in to these type of threads where someone is stating their opinion that they like a certain boxer...but they come in anyway to post something negative about them. It's pointless. If you don't like Hamed, that's fine. But if you can't see why he was good for the sport, then you're blind.

Naz took the featherweight division to box office, he was pure class.

He would hijack the main event when he was on an undercard in the press conferences.

He was the man, lucky to have him in our era.

Frank Bruno used to say 'boxing is just like showbusiness only with blood'. That pretty much summed up Hamad's career. An brash, entertaining fighting machine who was also a kingsize pain in the arse.

Do people actually realise Hamed fought after the MAB fight or are they too blinded by their hate of the 'sand n*gger'?

One of the best entertainers of all time. Mad respect to him, he brought the mega money into lower weight divisions.

Glad to see i'm not the only one. Whether you like him or not, he brought attention to boxing like only a few before him have done before and he was undeniably entertaining.

    I couldn't stand him.

Will forever have a special place in my heart for Barrera for kicking his punk ass.

I thought his flying carpet entrance was incredible.

That myth of him fighting 'bums', makes me laugh. During his prime years, he fought and beat the best that was available. MAB was the first ATG he came across, and yes, he failed. But there's no shame in that, because MAB isn't exactly **** himself, is he? And even then, it wasn't as one-sided as most make out. Fact is, he was a gem to the sport the short time he lasted. The type we won't see again for a long time. The only thing you can criticize him for, is him falling in love with his power, failing to adjust when his reflexes were fading, and not having the heart to rebound from his only loss.
