There was one Naseem Hamed fight, I cant remember which one, he sparked the dude out and then in his post fight he said "I always knew there was going to be stretchers involved"

    ****ing hillarious

Has his division ever been so popular since? Anyone so charasmatic, flashy and a KO artist to boot? Great fighter...wish he'd have come back after MAB...yeah he did for 1 or 2 lesser fights but his fighter was out then. I think he'd gotten too rich, and he had young kids to bring up so just lost his passion for it. Shame really. I think when fighters become too rich it can take their edge/hunger away...Mike Tyson another great that had a few similarities - never realising his true greatness after the bubble burst.

The judges scorecard from the fight with MAB:

referee: Joe Cortez | judge: Chuck Giampa 111-116 | judge: Patricia Morse Jarman 112-115 | judge: Duane Ford 112-115

    Hardly an ass kicking.

    No knockdowns too.

I think this is because people thought Hamed was going to KTFO of MAB. As he didnt his ass got kicked / schooled.

Hamed haters are living off the high standards he set himself, and because he didnt knock MAB he got schooled.

Yeah, and I don't think he meant that comment to be 'hilarious', either. He was being serious.

    Nonsense.

    Kevin Kelley
    Manuel Medina
    Wayne McCullough
    Tom Johnson
Wilfredo Vasquez(albeit a past prime version)
    Paul Ingle
    Cesar Soto
    Vuyani Bungu

were not bums. Look up their records and tell me how they are bums.

I like him as well, very awkward while fighting, great power, very charismatic, very exciting, good resume and imo retired on time.
Not an atg boxer on a level like barrera and morales but definitely a hof fighter that was lighting up the lower divisions when nobody cared about them in the 90's.

    This.

But its hardly a surprise he has so many haters. I both loved and hated him at the same time back in the day.

For all intent and purpose, MAB retired him.

Hamed fought some tough guys, and had some great fights. He did get a schlacking against Marco Antonio Barrera, but it is Barrera an all time great! I am not saying he was the best or a great, but he was an entertaining fighter to watch.

disagree. these guys made the lower weight what they were. Barrera, Morales then Pac and Marquez had some great fights.

i don't put Naz in with those guys. When i think of greatest fights ever i think of Morales and Barrera 1 maybe 3(if im in the mood) i don't think of any of Naz's fights.(he did have some great fights though kelley, boom boom etc )and Morales and pac 1.
