Why would they not be about this? I'm not up on all the politics or whatever.

BigReg is really just a BigFlomoCheerleader, he would say white was black if he thought it was to the benefit of the ***** cause. Even if someone here can post a gif of where The Ring magazine clearly states their fightnight weights, he'll burst out crying and say there's a global conspiracy against his Floydy Woydy. You wait!

Someone on this site must still have that edition. We will find it someday!

Ortiz was a natural WW title holder in his prime, coming off a career best win against Berto. JMM was P4P superior to Ortiz, but he was also an ageing light-weight, fighting at WW, yet Floyd still couldn't stop him. The win over JMM means little. The Oritz victory is decent but not spectacular.

Why would Popkins, or The Ring, lie about it? 152 seems believable, considering he was 150 against Ortiz.

If you want to be an ass about it, go right ahead. 152 is not even heavy for WW. That's actually relatively light, and much lighter than many people were guessing. That's not the point though, the point is that the figure they're quoting is basically meaningless considering there is no way they could've known for sure what his weight was considering he refused to weigh himself. More than likely, someone told them that weight(probably someone from Team Mayweather).

No one said they just simply made the figure up. But they didn't get it from a scale or from HBO's broadcast.

Though I thought Floyd could have been dominant and supposed to be an easy match up by being the obvious bigger fighter that night, still against JMM was a better win because Floyd performed and won fairly in my opinion.

Who cares where they got it from. If it's not exactly 152, then the confirmed 150 weight against Ortiz suggests it was probably somewhere close. It's not that big of a deal.

It's not a big deal. Popkins made it big deal by a smart ass about it.

Popkins...you sound like you dislike Mayweather for some reason. You keep saying that it was in the Ring Magazine but you still have not come up with anything. And besides, how reliable was the so-called article that you are referring to.

You guys have to give Mayweather credit. He beat Marquez when he was #2 pound4pound champion after a 2 year layoff. You all acting like Marquez was some kind of C-class fighter or that the weight was that much difference. Look how much Baldomir outweighed Floyd...look how much Ortiz outweighed Floyd. You guys are a bunch of hypocrites.

if floyd have made the 144 catchweight, i would have ranked his jmm win over ortiz easily.
