Given this is what Terry had to say, I'm curious to hear the views of Classic Posters here at ESB.

    ==================

CIANI: When you look at the stars in boxing today, the two big names we have right now are Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Junior, and I was wondering if you could tell the fans out there what you think of those guys?

NORRIS: You know I really don’t think too much of those guys. If they were back in my era they wouldn’t be champions. Boxing has gotten soft. If you put Floyd Mayweather in my era, I know a number of guys that were in my weight division that would beat him, including me! I don’t think that much of boxing today.

CIANI: Now you said you think you could beat Floyd. I’m curious Terry, a lot of fans tune in to Floyd hoping to watch him lose. In your view, what would be the key to beating him?

NORRIS: The key to beating Floyd is somebody that’s going to go in there and mix it up with Floyd. Not box him, but go at him, bang Floyd, push Floyd around, and hit him with uppercuts and hit him with things that he’s just not expecting to be hit with. You need somebody strong, somebody bold, and somebody that’s real aggressive and just throws a lot of punches, and goes in there in the best shape of their life and ready to go.

CIANI: Now given the description you just gave there, do you think if they ever fought that Manny Pacquiao could beat him?

NORRIS: No. Manny Pacquiao can’t beat him. There is no way Pacquiao can beat Mayweather! He comes forward, but he’s not that strong. He’s not like a real power puncher. He’s not as fast as Floyd, so Floyd will be able to outmaneuver him, throw different combinations, use his speed, and outmaneuver him. I believe that right there would be a very easy fight for Floyd.

Norris would be too much man for him (no homo). Too much speed, power and sneer. ...Or Mayweather knocks him out with a jab. I don't know. Either way.

Norris would clock Lil Floyd during a break and wind up being DQ'ed.

Norris would have no problem calling Floyd out if it were the Floyd that was campaigning at 130 pounds.

Norris all the way. Terry is at home here and far speedier. I like Norris by a cruising UD.

So what success (if any) do you see Mayweather having during the course of the fight, and what do you see as his best strategy for neutralizing Terry?

At 154 Norris is to fast (at that weight) & strong, P4P Floyd all the way.

All retired boxers think that their era is stronger than the era (s) that are after their time are alot weaker than their era, it has been happening since the begining of boxing.

In what strong era did the older guys say that it is a very strong / one of the best ears for that weight? plus Duran says he can still whip Pacman.

I think Roach himself said Duran would whip Pac.

I have though about this fight. Before I picked Norris, but the more I think about it I pick Mayweather. Norris had a chin problem and if he did not get Mayweather out early, Mayweather's better ring generalship would win the fight. Everyone thinks because Norris can blitz Meldrick Taylor, he can blitz Floyd. Two different fighters. Floyd might get hit more than he ever did, but I think he settles down and starts to win about round 5 or 6.

Little to none. Floyd's the smaller man and is too high up in weight. I don't see how he will effectively deal with Terry's blinding speed.

I meant right now, not in their primes.

nobody would think that norris could blitz mayweather.
norris is just bigger, just as fast and not a fool. i would say defensively floyd is up there but norris was notorious for throwing th ecounter combos when fighters let loose. hard to combat. best would be to try and get him out of there or try and wear him down by walking him down. 2 things i wouldn't think floyd could do for a whole fight
