Pacquaio is fighting Marquez at the same catchweight as Mayweather did at 144?

140 or 144 doesnt make a bit of difference. Both guys are gonna come into the fight around 145 no matter what. If JMM bloats himself or overtrains its his own fault. He can come in at a lighter weight and do fine.

Pacquiao wont come in 2 pounds over like void! I agree with berts 2nd opinion.. JMM has no business @ 144! Pac will destroy him this time.

While I agree that it didn't change the outcome of the fight, that is Floyd won by pure class, it made a bad impression out of Floyd.
Remember that was the first time JMM fought north of his natural weight class, which is 2 divisions above, mind you, then Floyd didn't even follow the contracted weight.
    Which is why it's a ***** move.

Again, 2 lbs overweight = not an issue as far as the outcome of the fight is concerned BUT an issue when done against a fighter that has never fought 2 divisions above his weight class only to be cheated again by a natural WW.

And also, I don't know if you guys are into weight training, but 2lbs of lean mass is a huge difference as far as strength is concerned, especially if placed on the right muscle groups.

Lastly, the difference bet Pac and Marquez is they will step in the ring on their usual fight night weights and neither will outweigh the other by a huge difference.
So again, weight is not an issue here, not unless you all admit that Pac is too good for JMM now and you have to shake his preparation for the fight a bit by forcing him to go down to 140lbs and lose some serious strength.
You have no idea what dehydrating does to your strength, even if you rehydrate to your normal weight afterwards.

The problem with your argument is you didn't consider that the past fight night weights of Pac and JMM, which were undoubtedly one of each other's best, would be similar to how it will turn out when they will fight on November.
That means we should be expecting the same clash of titans, if only both were still prime (JMM is way past it).

If Sergio and Ortiz both used to be LW contenders and they come in as MW's on fight nights, and we saw on a previous fight of theirs that their styles clash well, then I will have no problem saying that Ortiz vs Martinez is a good MW fight.

I wish they would fight at 140.Pacman will not have an easy time by any means, but JMM is not exactly in his prime and the added weight will make it even less competitive. However,he has a much better chance of winning then he did aganist Floyd, regardless of weight.Gayweather would have outclassed Juan"The Dynamite **** Drinking King"Marquez at any weight,BTW.

I wish they would fight at 135 TBH, only they both can't go that low and maintain their current strength.

Because Floyd came in a couple pounds heavier than he should have, Marquez only landed about 3 significant punches the whole fight, instead of the 80 he would have if Floyd made 144.

Actually lets say this fight takes place when their both in their pimes, fought at 135.Floyd would really be quicker, sharper, and throw more punches, all while having the same fantastic defense. He would have beat him worse.

That's BS, the most MAyweather has been was 152 vs DLH. The most he has been at WW is 149

    That's a load of bull.

  12. And wasnt Marquez the one who called Mayweather out? He wanted him so bad too.

Joking. We know Floyd made the first move.

At least ****ing make the fight at 143 so that he can say he gave JMM a better deal than shady Floyd

What the **** is up with these ridiculous catchweights anyways. Cotto-Marg at 153... now that is a ****ing embarrassment.

you get every advantage you can. Because in these PPV events most casual fans don't know the specific details. All they know is Manny is fighting Marquez.

If manny loses at 140, people aren't gonna say, yeh but he fought him at a lighter weight. They wil just say, Mayweather dominated him, and Manny lost to him.

    :deal:deal

plus Marquez is 2 years more worn and in the process has been knocked down by a glorified journeyman in Katsidis. Anyone that gave Floyd **** for Marquez fight at WW is a hypocrite if they don't give Pac even more **** for fighting a more worn blown up Marquez at the same weight 2 years later.

let's not forget who asked for the fight. jmm practically was throwing himself at pac to get this fight. pac is fighting full welterweights now. pac won't get full credit if he wins, still this is a fight jmm asked for in the first place. evidently, jmm is working his ass off so this is not just easy money for him. as for pac, stylistically, jmm could still give him problems, no matter what the weight is.
