He's fighting a 35 year old guy who lives in Donetsk, Ukraine and has 7 losses? Stanyslav Merdov? The guy has been fighting the biggest bums, all in Donetsk and in 2009 lost a 10 round decision to Mykyta Lukin (8-17-2)? I thought my eyes were deceiving me when I looked at boxrec. Chris is nervous because the last time he was in the ring Yordan put it on him. Chris should open a restaurant in Indonesia and stop being so fraudulent
He's a paper champ who has simply hid his entire career in Indonesia. He got a home town decision vs Marquez.
The ****er won't fight any one he makes it ridiculously one sided on the contractual obligations, that most guys have to be willing to take the fight for Airfare almost. The WBA keeps sanctioning bull**** title defenses if they would grow a pair and rank him a mandatory that would actually count, he would either defend it, lose it, or retire. Also any one who fights him on home turf needs a KO or TKO, there will be no decisions for any one but the hometown hero, ask Marquez. I have been asking about him for awhile why he does not get any flack, every one talked **** on Juanma (pre-Salido loss) for not fighting Caballero or Gamboa, I was asking about Chris John :huh ****ing title holders had no interest in unifying. :? I dunno about this cat **** him, he is a ***** I co-sign your post TS starter
I see it lists his manager on boxrec and when you click on his name it gives his email. Anyone who agrees with me should shoot him a respectful email, but call him a *****
I did I sent him a respectful one...but let him know what folks think, I omitted the term "*****" as I don't want it to be written off as a hating internet crazy, but did use the term "Paper Champ" and other examples.
"In the year 2008, Chris John was interviewed by ESPN and he stated that he will fight another 5 or 6 fights and will retire as the best featherweight that the world have ever seen." I will admit though I did underrate his performance against JMM, he did make a lot of the rounds pretty close, but Juan had more rounds where he was actually dominant.
After getting a lot of good luck with his gift against Marquez...John has had some bad luck. Injuries, sickness, broken promises..fights falling over at the last minute..a poor decision in his American debut. Plus he is in a difficult position of being a legit title holder who can earn good money at home but can't see that matched abroad...having to really take a risk for less reward because of his lack of profile. It's gotten to the point now where it's just taking the **** however...They might always love him in Indonesia but his reputation overseas is deteriorating rapidly. Thing his last defense was a really good fight against a decent opponent...but his management seem unwilling or unable to capitlise on that. He might not even get to the point Navarez is at, where at least Omar is having a last throw of the dice because he knows his days are numbered. John is just going to see his prime wasted.
