If Narvaez does beat Donaire...

Yeah, he looked totally drained against Sid and Kochulito. In his first two bouts since moving up. The twenty-eight year old who was a super flyweight last year, and a flyweight two years ago. Yeah, he's a growing boy alright. 122 must be murder. He should be a welterweight.

Narvaez is a favorite, and furthermore a favorite to win by stoppage. I don't think any of that's wrong. What IS wrong is that despite all that, the shitheads around here are going to resist giving the man his due IF he spoils the party.

 

Well, there's size (which is a BIG factor, so to speak) - but there's also age, even though Narvaez hasn't taken an excess of wear and tear (eight years is a whopping advantage in the lower divisions)...and there's location. The USA is more Donaire territory than it is Narvaez territory...and in a close round some more ignoble judges who'd never outright admit doing so might tip it in favor of the bigger guy with the more orthodox style who they've actually heard of before and seen on TV countless times.

Yes, it's a long shot - but IF Narvaez does it, will you give him props (MAJOR ****ing props, given what a sure thing you see Donaire as...like ":bowdown Omar, we are not worthy! Forgive us our trespasses!" type props) or will you be among the muck-raking scum grasping at straws and proclaiming "What mysterious ailment has befallen the Flash? :| There's no way this guy beats him on a good night!!"

Their only big accomplishment in 2011 would be beating their fellow finalist, whichever one it is.

Froch beating Ward, that's big. The earlier win over Johnson doesn't really add much to it, though.

Those semi-final wins weren't really anything to write home about.

Narvaez's three super flyweight challengers may not be household names, but they were probably better super flyweights than Abraham & Johnson are super middleweights. I rate Seda in particular quite highly; he's as good a win at 115 as Abraham & Johnson combined at 168.

Plus Narvaez beating Donaire would be 5x bigger than either Ward or Froch beating each other.

I don't go in for all this list-making that you kids do, but my guess is he feels that Mayweather, Pacquiao and Martinez at least all have firm footholds above him. To me it seems most people have either Donaire or Maravilla in that three spot. As for who should be clear-cut 4th ahead of him, I dunno. :conf Again, these silly made-up lists that don't stay the same for long and rarely match up from one person's to the next really aren't my bag.
