Australian, Samuel Colomban (20-3-0) will face England’s, Denton Vassell (18-0-0) making his second defence of the Commonwealth Welterweight title at Oldham Sports Centre on Saturday November 12th, 2011.

Cameroon born Colomban, 26, has won 20 of his 23 professional bouts and is the reigning WBO Oriental champion.

Vassell is also due to challenge British champion Lee Purdy in the near future, but cannot over look Colomban who will be having his first overseas professional fight.

Colomban best win came in March 2010 when he stopped former IBF lightweight champion Philip Holliday.

He is also on a 10 fight winning streak and Vassell said: “This guy is experienced, knows the championship distance and could be my toughest opponents.”

Colomban was due to fight on November 18 in Melbourne against Czar Amonso for the WBO African and Oriental title but this has now been called off.

Columban had been in the gym for quite some time from what i heard so he should be ready to go to give his all. However i feel he will come up short and lose a points decision.

    Quality sparring for Omotoso.

Benavidez will be a star in the coming years!

The English press pumped up Kevin Mitchell's tyres til they almost burst. Need not have bothered. Katsidis did that for him.

If Sam keeps his distance and uses his reach he should win this no problem.
