From what I have read on here I am glad I did not go. Cant stand it when knob heads kick off at sporting events. Never used to see any trouble when my dad used to take me and my brother to boxing as kids.We went to all the big fights that came to Wales in the 90s. By the sound of it there is as much fighting in the crowd as in the ring these days.very sad.
That undercard was ****ing dire weren't it. Can you remember the Latvian guy they drafted in against Fury. The guy was like 5ft8 and chubby at 15st odd. Complete and utter mismatch. I had a better time watching fleaman blowing holes in his own chin in the foyer :rofl
I don't remember it kicking off at Froch vs Dirrell. The only incident that springs to mind in or out of the ring is a couple of drunks tripping over and falling against the pedestrian barriers in the outer ringside area. Last Saturday was mental, the fact that it was Scum vs Redshite can't have helped.
There was some trouble with Fury's crowd whom were sporting white vests and there was some trouble with a drunk bloke who kept standing up and the guys behind at it off with him. Last Saturday was atrocious, I blame the fact beer was allowed to be consumed in the arena to be fair. This is what makes me angry about weed being illegal. Stoners never have this kind of trouble whereas Alcohol makes folk lairy and violent, shambolic law really.
I don't have a problem with people taking beer into the arena, stopping them from doing so only creates aggro of it's own. The bar staff just need to be more aware of how tanked up a particular person is before serving them, IMO.
Then they get aggro for refusing to serve someone and hold the que up. Why serve it at all? albert dock is like 1/4 of a mile walk away.
££. Plus, sadly, people wouldn't turn up if alcohol wasn't served. A lot of people would rather drink than watch the undercard if it's not allowed in the arena.
I see where your coming from but surely a grudge match with an early kick off in the footie where folk are on 'the all day session' then to sell them more drink is reckless. You cant take beer into a cinema so why a fight? I dont get it, I honestly felt unsafe as a Clev fan but cos I dont give a **** I still shouted 'War Clev'. Terrible organisation, or lack of to be more poignant. Why should I after laying out £55 for my ticket have to endure watching a guy getting his head stamped on and then a bloke pissing in the sinks I planned to wash my hands in? I can't even believe I have to justify this point to make my opinion stand. Alcohol should NOT be sold on the basis you can walk into the arena, the foyer ok but not the arena. I just believe that it shouldn't be sold period.
