here's manny and ariza i tried this when I was working out with a friend a few years ago. I utilized a bunch of muscles i never knew I could work out just trying to keep balanced and my core felt shredded. I need to start working out again. You got any pointers or some websites for regimens or techniques? [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9uGkzqlW0E[/ame]
Thanks for the vid killjoy... added it to the 1st page. Hope some1 on here can help u with your training techniques.
for pac and his team it's sweat and blood... for the mayweathers it's steriods. every time i see vids like these it makes me think how ******ed floyd is.
Yeah plyo work, builds up explosive strength and is nothing new. As someone said youtube it. Boxing has been very slow on the uptake of training for explosiveness. Many advocates for this kind of training have been shot down over the years. If you go watch MMA training vids this kinda work has been used for years. As an athlete you must train like one. When you put the plyo stuff in to practise it helps when it comes to fighting with explosive bursts and gives you the ability to throw combos (like Manny does) and recover very quickly in order to throw again with mean intentions. Ariza's stuff can all be found online and it's just a case of putting together a set of excersizes for a circuit.
As stated in an earlier post in this thread: Ross Enamait This content is protected Joe Defranco www.defrancostraining.com (Though Joe mainly trains football athletes, he has great ideas for powr development. Even has a new DVD on the subject) Mike Mahler (Kettlebell Expert) google for website Martin Rooney www.trainingforwarriors.com If you are a trainer or thinking of becoming one, check out the MMA Conditioning Coach Certification ( This content is protected ). I received this certification last year. Though it covers MMA, there is an entire section dedicated to the conditioning demands of a boxer. Definitely the best cert I have at this point.
Most def. ... Though he isn't a trainer, Ariza has inroduced a new way for boxers to train as most old school trainers (Stewart, Floyd Sr.,) only use bodyweight training. That is old news IMO. Yes I still incoropate tons of bodyweight into my clients regiment (as well as my own), I still am pro resistance training (barbell complexes, Kettlebells, Dumbbells, Tire Flips, etc...). You may know all the strength, plyo exercises out there, but if you can't put them into an effective format for the demands of the particular athlete, it doesn't mean anything. Though I haven't worked with any pro fighters yet, I have no doubt that when I do, the fighters I work with will be highly conditioned
Pac looks in the best shape of his life. His last few fights he's been dominating, but damn sure didn't stay that much in shape while out of training camp. Glad to see him taking this fight seriously, and I'm sure he's getting ready to fight Mayweather soon.
I dont think so. He is a trainer not an athlete. Although he was a high school prospect out of New Jersey for football. He probaly trains(ed) someone with a 50 inch vertical though
I must be thinking of somebody else edit: yeah my bad, it was this guy [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ai7FKiaB8ZA[/ame]
