Golden boy get their way, but is-it the fair no contest ruling? or the DQ win which may be a worse result that the original...

 

I think NC is enough. DQ is taking it way too far. It's understandable that people are heated in a boxing match

 

Excatly, DQ would be ridiculous. NC is the right decision.

I think the fight was at LHW though . Now being serious, someone posted an article from that site stating that Hopkins would get the belt back.

No contest is the right call but Im not cheering the result !

 

Considering we're not likely to get a re-match (Mixed feelings about that, not something I'd be overly excited to watch, but it's never good when two fighters have an unresolved situation) wonder what Hopkins will do next

 

I'm amazed to see that a good decision was made in boxing... A no contest followed by a rematch (not another PPV) is fair for both guys.

The WBC board voted to keep Hopkins the champs and keep the belts. It seems The Ring followed the decision of the WBC. While the California athletic commission will make their decision dec. 13th.

While I really dont want for PPV for a rematch, I think a rematch is in order, theirs still unfinished business there.

I agree with both WBC and The Ring, because I think Dawson pushed Hopkins. And if anybody agree with this, whether Hopkins fake the gravity of his injury, whether if he wanted a way out, is irrelevant. Hopkins cannot continue because of something illegal, it just cannot be a TKO.

 

Members of the Board of the WBC have decided: Bernard Hopkins is still the champion LHW of the organization.

The majority of the members have decided after a vote Wednesday to reverse the decision of the referee Pat Russell on Saturday night in Los Angeles, who said Chad Dawson winner by technical decision, reports The Ring Thursday.

Russell ruled that there was no fault when Dawson projected Hopkins ground at 2:48 of the second round. Wounded in the left shoulder, the champion has not been able to continue the fight, so that Russell gave the victory to the candidate.


The hearing before the California Athletic Commission will be heard by Dec. 13.

In the wake of the decision by the WBC, The Ring has also decided to let Hopkins retain his belt.
