Hopkins fouled by leaning on Dawson's back. Dawson due to frustration and fear retaliated by deploying a half UFC move body slamming Hopkins to the canvas. As a result of the body slam, Hopkins was injured. No Decision/No Contest is the only possible ruling. Had Dawson used a full body slam, it would appropriately been ruled a DQ. :good
If the WBC gives the belt to Hopkins and doesn't mandate a rematch then its a paper belt, straight up. I'm still waiting to see that MRI.
Nope, wrong answer. All Dawson needed do is wait for the Referee to come over and break them up. The Ref may have even given BHOP a warning for leaning on his back. Instead, Dawson git scared, hooked Hopkins behind the knee, lifted him and shouldered him to the mat. Hate to compare but Dawson's move was much more illegal than Hopkins.:yep
So the WBC and Ring magazine have voted to reinstate Hopkins as the champ, but the California Commission doesn't vote on whether the decision will be overturned until December 13th. If they vote NOT to overturn the decision and to have it remain a TKO victory for Dawson, but the belt remains with Hopkins, if I were Dawson I would ask for the sanctioning fee $$ back since I am officially the winner but not the champ. **** that ****!
BS!!! You got it twisted. BHOP TOOK the belt by decision from Pascal. Dawson had the belt temporarily by way of a bad referee call. If any, had Dawson been allowed to keep the belt, it would have been a paper title since he did nothing legal to gain it. This is not the UFC no matter what Dana White says.atsch
Right Dawson got "scared", because Hopkins had done so much to this point to cause him to be frightened.
The only ruling that really matters is the WBC. Dawson gets no refund since he's guilty of initiating a foul which ended the fight.:yep Maybe IF he gets past Pascal he'll get another chance and be smarter this time around.
Hopkins intiated it by jumping on his back after missing horribly with a right hand. It was a double foul and "gangsta" Hopkins ended up crying like a ***** and trying to con everybody yet again into believing that he was in excruciating pain while his adrenaline was pumping, but is perfectly fine when the fight is over and his adrenaline has dropped and listens attentively to the decision and is able to be interviewed with an ice pack on his shoulder without grimacing in pain as he was when he fell. C'mon dude, be objective. Hopkins is a dirty fighter who punches his opponent low when the ref is out of position, leads with his head, commits all kinds of rough house tactics and when his opponent retaliates or does something even semi- dirty he overreacts and acts like a *****. That is what pussies and bullies do who can't take what they dish out.
Champions don't quit.....when they do because of a shoulder injury, they get ridiculed for life on ESB, just ask Vitali, so why the love for the grampion Bernard? **** that guy and his boring ****. Let him have his title and he can go fight Cleverly abroad and that will be an ugly foulfest too.
Great decision, I'm glad to see them reward this kind of bull****, and allow Hopkins to carry on with his pathetic excuse for a "reign". He ducked out of a fight in which he could have continued, will take months to "heel", won't fight the best fighter in the division going forward, and will carry the "belt" with him as he embarks on a serious of interviews and TV appearances, but doing nothing in the way of defending his "title". Meanwhile the guys willing and able to fight, as fighters should, will be the ones "penalized" for this shitty judgement...brilliant, sounds entirely fair to me. Hopkins bitches out and quits, and the real fighters get penalized...yet stupid ****s cheer this ****, and yet wonder what's happening to boxing.
Unfortunately, the poster has gotten Hopkins fans hopes up for nothing. I repeat, NOTHING. There has been no determination by anyone except RING. They're position is not to remove the title from Hopkins pending review. Again, they are an "arm" of GoldenBoy, so this was expected. Unless they're successful in being granted a "special hearing", nothing changes until 13 Dec 2011. WBC pres. stated that they were remaining "neutral" and upholding the decision until the hearing. It will probably be ruled a NC eventually, but I hope Hopkins never fights again or gets KTFO by some journeyman in a fairwell bout.:good
