LOL at people being duped into what he who we cannot name suggested Hopkins coming here to fight Cleverly

Hopkins wouldnt get outa his bed for less than more than half a mil at this stage - yet hes going to come to Wales, with no PPV, with no big crowd, to fight on a obscure TV channel, to fight a kid who was gifted a belt and is literally a no-one in america?

But not doubt, an 'offer' will be made to Hopkins, and all the other title holders, but they will be in fear of Clev and will turn it down so he will have to go on fighting a who's who of the WBO top 15 for the next 5 years.....

I cannot rate Dawson. He got beat by a one-dimensional smw banger who blows as bad as Gavin Rees. Some folk like slip&counter were prophesying him as the real deal, a Mayweather at lhw I once read :lol

As Mandanda said, he was strutting round the ring, shouting at Hopkins, Hopkins’ team, the crowd for booing him, basically anyone in earshot. It was the most animated we’d seen him in months.

When the interviews start, he starts complaining that Hopkins had been ducking him, didn’t want the fight and had basically quit. When Max Kellerman asked him about the unintentional foul, he got increasingly agitated. Max asked why he was so angry since he’d done nothing wrong. Dawson, often at a loss for any sort of sensible statement, muttered about quitting, about not getting his dues.

When Max asked him about a rematch he replied “For what?” Clearly he believes his “performance” is enough to say he beat Hopkins.

All in all, it was a giant spoilt child having a tantrum. Apparently the press conference was more of the same.

When asked about a rematch, i think his exact words were "rematch? *screwed up face*, what for?!!"

Followed by getting up on each corner gesturing to the crowd, wearing a t-shirt with the WBC title on it (dont know where the real belt was?), calling Hopkins a *****, a *****, this that and the other.

As someone said earlier, i would have loved to seen when Dawson heard this news.

See, Mayweather Jr can be an obnoxious dick, but he can also be witty, articulate and engaging. Dawson's either dull or horrifying unpleasant. He's a *****.

You may well be right, but Bernard 'I Would Never Let a White Boy Beat Me' Hopkins, is hardly the charmer himself.

He's pretty charming when he chooses to be. And the white boy comment was pretty funny in context.

how did people expect dawson to react? I'd have been exactly the same.

How about with some humility? If he was a proper champion he’d have said “Look, I think I was going to win, but that’s a terrible way to do it. Hey Bernard, let’s do this again – I didn’t mean to injure you and we’ve both still got to prove who the champion really is.”

Instead he screwed his face up and refused a rematch. What right did he have to act like a primadonna? He been given the belt with a really dubious decision.

Accidental injuries sustained by a fighter that prohibit him from continuing the bout (before rnd 5) = technical draw decision.

Can't argue with this decision. Theyve gone by the letter of the law. literally.

It was pretty dumb for him to expect to be able to get away with a "win" like that.

I can understand his frustration, he obviously felt that Hopkins was faking it but it just narrows his future options massively. I actually like Dawson but hardly anyone gives a toss about him so for him to react like that obviously won't do him any favours.
