Calzaghe's five beat Froch's five if they had a team competition. In fact, they may go 5-0 no matter what the draw.

Pascal and Johnson are light heavyweights. Pascal shouldn't have been lingering so long at 168 and Johnson really shouldn't have dropped down.

Taylor and Abraham were middleweights (and Abraham just wasn't that good, relying at 160 just on his punch which the move up eroded).

That leaves Prime/slightly green Dirrell - who really isn't any better than over-hyped Lacy, or past-prime Eubank, or Reid, or even Mitchell...and DEFINITELY not one tenth as good as prime Kessler.

Who has the better top 3 wins at WW: Duran or Trinidad?

They both fought at ww, one for a lot longer than the other, but both had some top wins there (sound like a familiar scenario??).

Is this a loaded question or not?

yes. if you want. there is no underlying motive behind any of your threads or posts. & everything on the internet should be taken at face value. keep taking your meds dude. i know this nigerian guy who needs help moving some money...i'm sure you'd jump at that.

it must be sad being all alone & sick in the head. you'll be better one day. & maybe you'll have some people talk to you in real life too. :thumbsup

calzaghe's big wins trump froch's big wins in my opinion. After all Hopkins is a champion after all these years.

a loaded question would be a question where you have specifically skewed it to ensure a closer result. as you have admitted to doing with the question on this thread. :deal

:nono I didn't "skew" anything, I set a fair question which I believe is a debatable issue. Both men have had some top wins at 168, but whose were better? There is no skewing going on, I set up a debatable issue fairly using facts from either mans' career.

I ask again - is another example featuring fighters you are not emotionally attached to also a "loaded" question?

Top 3 wins at ww - Duran or Trinidad?

Both fought at ww, one for much longer than the other, but both had some top wins there.

If "top 5 wins at 168 - froch or calzaghe?" is loaded, then surely on the exact same basis then "top 3 wins at ww - Duran or Tito?" is too??? :think:lol:

No I didn't. I set up a debatable issue using facts/real events. Nothing more.

So in your weird world, this is a loaded question:

Who is the better middleweight: Hagler or Hopkins?

But this must, by your definition, be a loaded question yes? Because it has been "skewed" to disregard Hopkins's fights at lightheavyweight...

Seriously man, you're going down a road you CANNOT win here. Your p-o-v has been utterly unjustifiable from the first time you put it forward on this thread. :deal

if you check the following quotes you claim that you skewed the question to "encourage debate". whatever your motivation (which we won't get into...altho you must believe i am very naive) you have by your own admission skewed the question with the specific criteria you have used.

    proof:

Exactly! I was setting up a debatable issue using facts, not skewing anything.

by only using certain facts & declaring others are irrelevant you are skewing the question & presenting a loaded question.

that is true of any such question; altho the subtext would be different. for example if a guy who is known to dislike calzaghe & has made many calzaghe threads none of which painted him in a positive light...made a thread like this...i don't think it's a massive leap to spot the obvious subtext. :good

Theres some real fools on here who are posting, but dont know the fighters or what the fighters achieved etc.
Popkins has a hard time living with the fact that Calzaghe beat Hopkins :smoke.

Now in answer to the question with the fights listed. It would be Calzaghe.

    - Jean Pascal - No notable SMW wins
    - Glen Johnson - No notable SMW wins and was 0-5 in his last 5 world title fights
    - Andre Dirrell - Then no notable SMW wins. Dirrells only win of note was a DQ over a former MW when out cold
    - Jermain Taylor - Was 1-2 in his last 3 fights
    - Arthur Abraham - coming off a loss and unable to compete at SMW
None of these fighters have ever won a world title at SMW

At SMW Kessler, Lacy, Eubank, Reid and Mitchell all have far better SMW resumes than any of the fighters listed for Froch and had all been world champs at the weight and proven.

    - Mikkel Kessler - WBA/WBC champ on a winning run of 5 SMW world title fights
    - Jeff Lacy - IBF champ and on a winning run of 5 SMW world title fights
    - Chris Eubank - was 13-2-2 in SMW world title fights and with a very good resume
    - Robin Reid - former WBC champ who looked unlucky years later against Ottke and beat undefeated B Magee now WBA INT champ
    - Byron Mitchell - former 2 time WBA SMW champ

    Very clearly Calzaghe

Just look at B Mitchell alone
    2 time WBA SMW champ
    He beat
    - #1 Liles linear champ (something Ward is praised for doing) by KO. Liles was on a winning run of 8 world title fights with a win over M Nunn
    - drew with future 2 weight champ Girard
    - beat Siaca twice who went on to become WBA SMW champ who beat Mundine
    - beat former MW champ JC Green who beat a prime Joppy before Joppy was beaten by Trinidad or Hopkins.

Mitchell only lost a debateable SD to Ottke and was only ever beaten clearly once as a SMW by Calzaghe

This poll reaffirms ESB's reputation for being full of people who don't know **** about boxing (as much as the multitude of Mayweather-Pacquiao threads do)
