Lewis was out of his prime but vitali was not yet in his prime.
So question is who will win in his prime, we will never really know.
What matters is that Lewis did win, no matter how.
    Nothing else really matters..

He was in fighting shape and was fully prepared, as he knew a professional defense of his title was coming up.

But as for him getting *all he could handle* from Vitali, that was VItali's doing, not Lewis's. Lewis was prepared and in shape.

Lennox Lewis took the fight at 2 weeks notice!!! He was on the set of Oceans 11, 2 weeks before he took on Vitali...!

Vitali was already ment to fight on the under-card of Lennox Lewis's original planned fight on this date, BUT Lennox Lewis pulled out because his opponent backed out!!

"Vitali was in great shape, Lennox Lewis was not at his best"

When Lewis turned up out-of-shape vs Rahman, Rahman seized the opportunity.

Vitali was game, but came up short.

Out of shape Lennox Lewis TKO6 Prime Vitali Klitschko and there is not a damn thing you nuthuggers can do or say to change that fact.

Lewis was in what for him was his usual shape. He didn't train hard for many of his matches, which his one reason why he got knocked out cold twice and would have lost to Vitali as well if the ref had not saved his ass.

Vitali kicked Lewis's ass into retirement with the Staples Center crowd booing the champion Lewis out of the arena on the last night of his career -- and Lewis then quivered in fear a whole year after promising a rematch, only to retire when Vitali became his mandatory.

Nothing you can do or say will change those facts, either.

A rematch was needed to truly settle things between the men, but Lewis wouldn't do it.

I would say he was at about 93% of his best capabilities.

Why don't you just watch some of his earlier fights, even the Tyson fight and see the difference. It was obvious that his timing was off and he was slow and sluggish. Don't take anyone's opinion of it, go watch other fights and see for yourself. That doesn't mean he was necessarly out of shape but he wasn't up to his usual fighting standards for whatever reason.

Tua, Grant, Briggs, Morrison, Ruddock and Tucker great? I don't think so. Vitali is Lewis's best win, followed by his wins over 80's legends Tyson and Holyfield.

It became painfully obvious that Lenox was not in the same league as Vitali. Got beat up and chased out of boxing for good.

    have fun, buddy

That's forever tarnished Lewis's legacy, if there ever was one :lol:

Now he can only bitterly dream of the greatness he woud achieve if there were no K brothers. Too bad :rofl
