Quite impressive for a poor boy who use to beg for pennies in the streets of the phillipines. He's even higher in the world of most powerful sports figures.....Pac is doing alright for himself.
Yeah but how much is he profiting? Hell from what I read he spends his own money to start up these businesses. He can spend 10 million on hotel with his own money but he is not making any profits until he gets by that 10 million that he spent.
No denying that, but that's pretty much all Arum's handy work (promotion wise), so you know he's taking his pound of flesh. Being number 8 on the Forbes list ain't bad at all, but being number 2 is better,
That's what I said in another thread. Pac is lie a lot of other top paid athletes who spend more than they make .... Pac is still going 100 mph... He's generating a lot of paper and hes spending it just as fast.... But he may not be as "liquid" as he would like but his assets and businesses keep him financially solid....the signs are definitely thee that he could end up like so many other athletes who came before him.
To say Bob is responsible for Pacs accomplishments in the ring is interesting...sure its a team effort in any successful career but this is the first time I've heard a promoter is responsible for the historical accomplishments Pac has under his belts. I guess Ray Robinson should thank his promoter for making him the best p4p digger ever. Give Pac some time......he might just take that #1 spot before his career is over.....:smoke
Who said Arum is responsible for Pac's success in the ring??? But having said that.... Why is it interesting? There have been many great fighters, greater, more talented, more marketable (the man can barely speak English) than Pacquiao. Yet he is recognized as the best by VERY casual boxing fans and non-boxing fans. Celebrities think it's "cool" to drop his name and meet him, that is ALL promotion and promotionally driven. More power to him. There have been WAY more entertaining fights in these previous years than Pac's last couple of outings yet he's still marketed as the best, most EXCITING fighter in history. Arum and Top Rank all the way baby. And yes, if Ray Robinson wasn't so "business savvy" and such a shrude negotiator , maybe he would have had some slick-ster talk him up to the media and he would've been more of a legend than he is today. Who knows? :think
There is no such thing as divorce in the Philippines. You can get a marriage annuled, but only in very special cases. If a married couple decides to split up, by law they remain married for life (until death do us part) and cannot remarry someone else. Samski talkin out of his ass again! :yep
So are you one of those who also claim Arum is robbing Pac by taking a promoter's % of the 8 figure paydays he helped build him up to, and that Pac must leave Arum for the Mayweather fight to happen?
Pac is way more loaded than you think. He has made some sound investments in real estate, etc. He is receiving a life annuity from his endorsement for one of the biggest corporations in the Philippines. And also, I just learned this week that he owns 2 floors of the hotel that I've stayed in at Fort Bonifacio (in the Philippines). He is set for life.
