Totally agree. We should ask Conditioner what he thinks cintron's chances are.

Of course he has a chance. As they say, "A boxer's power is the last thing to go." Cintron could be losing the fight, and all he has to do is land one big shot. Canelo hasn't fought anyone with Cintron's power, so it will be interesting to see how he handles it. If Cintron lands something big in the first three rounds and Canelo takes it, then I can see Canelo going on to win a UD or TKO. If Cintron lands something big and visibly hurts Canelo, then he will go on to give the young redhead a beatdown and his first loss.

Either way, it's a good fight for Canelo since Cintron has sort of been relegated to gatekeeper status. Win or lose, he should gain some valuable experience.

Of course Cintron has a good chance. It should be a very good fight unless some craziness happens like the Williams or Martinez fights.

Cintron doesn't have that kind of power anymore, if he did, he'd KO Canelo. But Cintron hasn't looked all that good recently, dominated by Molina and had a harder fight than expected with Antwone Smith. His last good performance was the Williams fight before he fell out of the ring

Maybe it was lack of determination for these previous fights, if he turns up in great shape, I do think he stands a chance, but I don't see that happening. I think Canelo stops him late.

Cintron can beat this guy. I don't think Cintron is physically shot, he's mentally weak. His fights are decided very quickly. If he feels he can be the boss against his opponent, he will fight hard. When he doesn't, say like with Margarito who showed no fear at all against him, he shuts it down, complains to the ref and gets two buckets of **** beat out of him. All Canelo has to do is rough him up in round 1, get Cintron out of the fight mentally and its over. If I was Canelo, I'd hit him low, behind the ear and push him around in round one, then its an easy route from there to a tko. If he lets Cintron settle into his fight, he's taking a risk. Cintron when given distance to box and not smothered and stalked, will land big right hands. Canelo has to get after him, come forward and bully Cintron in round 1, then he wins handily.

He may not have the one punch KO power he had at 147, but I would be willing to bet that he has a lot more power than Alfonso Gomez. I agree that he hasn't looked too good in his last two fights, but it could be that he didn't get up for those fights (his fault, by the way). I, however, am one of the few who thought he was doing very well and beating Paul Williams before he fell out of the ring.

I believe Cintron is a big step-up in competition for Alvarez, and a risky one at that.

Cintron should come in very hungry. This may be his last chance before he is permanently relegated to ESPN type fights if he loses.

agreed on the hunger part after Molina blew his doors off less than a month later he was on ESPN vs Antoine Smith who is no bum and he was trying to make a statement

I think he certainly has the power and reach to give Canelo trouble

I mean look how average Canelo looked vs Gomez

and here is a guy with some power

Cintron can definitely win this. I don't think he will, but he definitely has the tools to cause trouble.

Every time I have declared a fighter "shot", they come back and surprise me. I think Canelo will win a late stoppage but I'm not confident enough to put any real money on it

Will the same people that bash Cintron mentality and heart be the first to give Canelo props for facing someone like Cintron if victorious. True irony:D It all depends what Cintron shows up, but if he pulls it off esp. in Mexico, that will shock a lot of people.

I remember when Cintron was "spoon fed" to Angulo, the rising Mexican star, because he looked like **** and shot in his last fights. Then he surprised everybody and outboxed Angulo silly.

Can he do it again and beat Canelo surprisingly easily? Maybe.

If Cintron is focused and determined and shows up like he did against Angulo not only does he have a chance to win, I think he will win. That's a big 'if' is the case of Kermit Cintron, though, and it probably won't happen. Should be a good fight regardless. Any version of Cintron is a step up from the opponents Canelo has been facing.
