I hope Manny does get smart because I recall him saying around the time he won the election. he only wanted to fight three more fights or two more years something like that. On average forty pecos to one dollar should go along way, but there has to be some truth to the financials problems. I truly hope not but knowing Arum. Oscar left Arum and was doing fine and was the biggest and best attraction in Boxing. Mayweather left Arum and is doing fine and is the biggest and best attraction in boxing. Manny is still with Arum and is doing fine but shouldn't be giving Arum 27% of his purse when that old man isn't taking any punishment or risks.

unless manny can promote arum getting 27 pct is fair. most boxers think they deserve more than they should. mayweather deserves it cause he takes on the promotional burden. manny does not. its hard to promte yourself and you take a risk because you need the capital to invest in. etc etc.

Indeed this is the case and it is very difficult to gain annulment of marriage. My bro is finding this out as we speak and his partner cannot annul her marriage so she can marry him in the uk. However, i do know that a bill has been put forward where grounds of violence and infidelity are grounds to annul. It is an ongoing saga but i feel eventually they will have to pass it.

Catholicism does not govern the Filipino marriage laws. If it did then divorce would be allowed on reasonable grounds. Catholicism has moved on quite a lot .

On the subject of the thread then no pac aint skint.. But being realistic he doesn't have a normal life either. He blows loads of money on his entourage, paid out loads to see to is election as a congressman. Anything can happen to anyone :think

Actually, Arum offers Pac a guaranteed purse plus a % of PPV sales from what Arum calculates would be the gross and net revenues of his fight. Unlike other promoters that rely on HBO rights and then divides it up among their fighters, Arum finances Pac's fights himself, but generates income from various revenue streams such as gate receipts, part of the PPV buys, site fees, broadcast and ancillary rights overseas, and others. Based on his projections, he will offer Pac a guaranteed purse of, say, $20M, which Pac will receive regardless of how well the fight does at the site and on PPV. On top of this, Arum includes a % of the PPV sales above a certain number of buys, which is usually slightly above the break-even point.

Like most businessmen, Arum takes a risk every Pac fight. If the fight does poorly at the gate and at PPV, then he may not be able to recoup the guaranteed purse. Conversely, if the fight does better than expected, then he stands to make a lot of money, and so does Pac. Thus, the notion that Arum gets 27% of Pac's purse is baloney. In the past, Pac has flexed his muscles to demand a higher purse that what was initially offered by Arum, and he always got his way. So, he is far from being Arum's puppet, as claimed by others. You can be sure that whatever the income that Pac receives from his fights, it is the result of a mutual agreement between Pac and Top Rank.

Finally, if I am not mistaken, it is now illegal for a promoter to receive a share from his fighter's guaranteed purse under the Muhamad Ali law. Only the trainer, cutman and other cornermen have a pre-arranged cut from the purse. Of course, this is where the fighter pays all of his training expenses from. Don King would often over-charge various expenses from his fighters' purses, thus getting his pie and eating the fighters' too. I think this is now illegal.

    Floyd has a white Ferrari

you must know nothing about cars if you don't even have the eyes to recognize a Ferrari in a garage

keep imagining it's you whenever you see Oscar driving in a Ferrari at downtown LA if it makes you feel better

Wow an intelligent post about promoters. If Pac does go broke it will have zero to do with Arum. Arum gets what he deserves after putting up all the $$ for promotional stuff. It's amazing people have such a hard time understanding that aspect of boxing.

If Pac goes broke it will be because of his ridiculous entourage. Remember hearing some commentators saying during one of Pac's ringwalks that it costs $100k to fly his entourage over to the US. Thats absolutely insane and doesn't bode well for the rest of his spending.

Say what you want about Arum and he is sleazy but he actually work to promote his fighters which is more than guys like Gary Shaw do.
