Hearing Bunce's remarks last night is seems fighters flock there from all over the world thinking that they will become the next Pacman whereas life is extremely competitive there and more sink than swim.

I wonder what experience Larry Olubamiwo had there? How much time did Freddy have with him?

Freddy probably does **** all with them tbh, They probably get a session or two on pads with some basic commands and then ****ed off home.

Freddy welcomes the money though, His gyms become to big for quality work from himself he can't coach that many people and have great input. I can understand a fighter going there for sparring but not to work with Roach.

They'd be better going elsewhere IMHO..

How many boxers does Roach actually have at the minute and which ones does he give most time to:

    Manny Pacquaio
    Amir Khan
    Vanes Matriosyan
    Jorges Linares
    Jose Benavidez
    Julic Cesar Chavez Jnr

That list there is easilly enough for one guy a year and im sure there are many more. How many other coaches are at the wild card

Just cos a fighters at the wildcard doesn't mean he's with roach. Paulie and quillin work with someone else, pepper roach has a couple young guys and there's probably a few mire trainers there too. With so many fighters there you're pretty much gauranteed good sparring. If a fighter is happy with one of the background trainers then its probably a great place to train.

I'm pretty sure Freddie would have been a bit hands in with Byrne though as I think Freddie had a part of his managerial contract when Dean was in the states

I'd love to go and watch some of the sparring.

Freddys got quite a few high profile fighters, I think the lower guys are lucky to get a 30 minute pad sessions with him. However, the environment, the sparring, the possible advice etc is all worth going for.

Seems to me like Freddie has instilled a hard working atmosphere at the wild card pair that with the champs that train there and being around no matter what your level can only have a positive effect even if you don't spend much time with roach. Besides if you were a real prospect I would hope roach would spot your talent if you were in the same room.

I'm not surprised Roach didn't take more interest in Dean Byrne, as he has mediocre talent imo. For a guy who's had over 200 amateur fights he looked terribly basic to me.
