Some of Calzaghes early fights were appalling, even Zaggers didnt know wtf was going on in that fight

 

First one just about sums up Calzaghe's career

 

If you honestly think a fighter has to get a KO to be 'good' then you don't know jack about boxing.

But there was one legit KO in that video, when he was fighting the black guy in the rede trunks starting at 1:20. He really was hurt.

I wonder how many knockdowns slappy has? Probably not many.

 

the first one with joe vs the black fighter in red trunks was pretty bad, the other joe landed a pretty hard left and the guy put his hands down i mean not a great stoppage but the guy had poor body language

I don't know if I'm one of the very few, but, I always found Calzaghe's style hard to tolerate. Not once have I been entertained or in awe by one of his fights.

 

i remember seeing this vid sometime ago....but boy, how the **** did he get so many stoppages like that. I have to say brit refs seem very corrupt.

Im Calzaghe fan, but some of those stoppages are just embarrassing.

 

Joe could punch, but even as a young fighter he suffered a lot with wrist & hand injuries

I'm a big fan of his but some of those stoppages

 

I don't want to turn this into a Brit vs thread but British refs are awful with these kinds of stoppages. It's laughable how over-protective they're toward the opponents of prodigies.
