Donaire still looking wild at times...maybe he knows he has weight/conditioning issues and would prefer to hurt Narvaez earlier rather than later...

    Round 5

Right hands reaching in by Donaire. Narvaez edges close and lands a lead left to back Donaire briefly against the ropes. Donaire comes back toward him, walking Narvaez across the ring with his left jab. Narvaez blocks most of the jabs and throws his right up-jab back at him. DOnaire misses a right uppercut. Narvaez slips a straight right. The crowd is getting restless. Not much action. Narvaez keeps his guard up. Donaire can't figure out how to hit him clean with head shots. Kellerman surmises that now would be a good time to go to the body. Donaire lunges and Narvaez sidesteps. Scraping right hook by Narvaez. Right hand into the gloves by Donaire. Flurry by Donaire, blocked. Narvaez lands a right jab and steps off to the left. High right jab by Narvaez, and then he ducks a lunging straight right by Donaire playing matador. Right jabs by Narvaez backing up. Left lead by Narvaez.

    10-9 Narvaez

    48-47 Narvaez

    3-2 Narvaez.

Donaire landing nothing clean, Narvaez landing that jab all night.

That was a hard round to score. I have to keep giving the rounds to Donaire. Narvaez is just too passive. Good jab, good defense but he needs to do some more to win rounds here.

    50-45 Donaire.

This fight is a snorefest so far... If HBO is trying to convince the world that Donaire is P4P they shouldn't have undersold Navarez so much.. because now it seems Donaire isn't all that great.

    Round 5
Gave the round to Narvaez. He controlled the action landed the cleaner shots and was at times able to jump in, land his right and pull out before Donaire could counter. LOoks like after the last round Donaire is trying to load up.

    1: 10 - 9 Narvaez
    2: 10 - 9 Narvaez
    3: 10 - 9 Narvaez
    4: 10 - 9 Donaire
    5: 10 - 9 Narvaez

    That's because he's better. :D

Take away Vic's great equalizer, that big power - and he's really not a very good boxer. :nono
