Barker wasn't giving away huge size disadvantages though...in fact he could well have been the bigger man and was certainly the younger fresher man

I thought Narvaez outweighed Donaire at Fight Night?

Donaire weighed 131 before going to sleep last night

Floyd would have walked him down and fought him in the clinch while mixing punches to the body and head

Did you even look at them?

Donaire was 116.5 and Narvaez 117 on the scales...but Donaire was well into the 130's if not low 140's come fight time

Challenge the Champ then hide in a shell. Best gameplan for a big payday!

if the OP is right (didnt see it)

that sucks if he was without a plan depending on an early KO and then didnt really know how to get to an opponent

What Narvaez didn't have in size he made up for in footwork and an overall exceptional guard - which is why, coupled with his refusal to open up, he didn't get koed.

I highly doubt any other 118lber would have done as well as Donaire did against Narvaez, much less score a stoppage.

I think every donaire critic keeps forgetting is: Narvaez is a tough nut to crack, he isn't a walk in the park and didn't win 35 fights for nothing.

When that level of a fighter decided to shell the whole fight, while doing just enough to keep the opponent at bay. Even the elites will have a hard time.

I think had you seen Darchinyan in their you wouldn't have heard him say "I'm bored" or the crowd chanting "this is bull****", he may not have stopped Narvaez but he'd have made a go for it.

If a bad Donaire gameplan = a shut out then does it matter?

I think he could have gone to the body a lot more but if plan A is winning every round I don't see a problem.

Couldn't disagree more. Abner Mares would've destroyed Narvaez' ribs.

Darchinyan would have been knocked out.

Disagree at the suggestion that Donaire wasn't trying for the ko. He was swinging big and missing big, in fact. If if weren't for his great athleticism, footwork, and speed, he would have gotten hit a lot more.

Had that been Vic in there swinging and missing, he probably would have gotten beat by Narvaez tonight.
