If you're genuinely interested i could show you some very talented lighter weight guys.

At the recent 2011 World Amateur Championships Ukraine won Gold at LW, WW, MW, HW and Silver at JMW. Russia Gold at Flyweight with Aloyan beating Ru'Shee W.arren on his way to Gold.

Ukraine Vasyl Lomachenko is widely regarded as the P4P best Amateur in the world and Russia's Selimov and Vodopyanov are not far off. Tishchenko was a 2x Olympic Gold Medalist but retired never going pro.

lol watch entire thing but at 50 seconds that's Selimov he embarresses, they hate eachother. Selimov is P4P too.

    2008 Olympic HL age 20.

Generally former Soviet Bloc states are seen as being Eastern European, while Countries like Croatia, Slovenia, ect. are seen as Balkan states.

For all intensive purposes though, I classify any country from Poland to Kazakhstan as Eastern Europe.

    Kostya isn't on that level.

Lomachenko is indeed impressive. Savvy, good basics.

The Eastern Euros are taking over boxing and this trend will extend to lower weights soon enough, whether you like it or not (and obviously you don´t....trust me bro, elite boxing will be 90% non american within a short time..only a fool would not be able to see that). 20 years ago they weren´t even in the conversation, how could they be since they could not possibly compete in the pros. The fact that they are already established and prominent in the higher weight classes within just 2 decades, which you´ve left out, speaks volumes. And BTW, Michigan Warrior, you should recognize one of the best middleweights of all time, the Michigan Assassin, as at least partly Eastern Euro , and ethnically 100% from that region, as both his parents came from Poland.

Oh yeah, the current barren scene makes me yearn for those golden days when the great Eastern Europe fighters like Ottke, Michalczewski and Maske spent their careers tracking down and convincingly defeating the very best opposition available to them in and around their weight classes... :rofl
