at the most one. I don't think this was a bad fight for Donaire. All fighters have fights where they look bad.. The thing is did he learn from it. The only thing I think he could have done more is maybe double jab and landing body punches. He didn't throw because he felt he could be countered.

maybe one...he just didn't do enough to take any rounds. He was too inactive even though defensively he was sound. it wasnt really "defensive" skills as opposed to just going into survival mode to self preserve.

If Donaire doesnt land **** and Narvaez lands 4-5 clean shots, Narvaez wins the round

I think he won the 2nd and the 7th on my card...something like that.

I'm not gonna rewatch it to find out though.

Easier said than done. If he increase his work rate, he open himself up more. And that is dangerous against Donaire.

Having viewed the fight once, I gave him three maybe four. There were definitely at least three rounds where he outlanded Donaire. If I torture myself by watching it again, I may give him four maybe five. When I started paying attention to what was actually landing, it was noticeable that while Kellerman was doing a Merchant and constantly criticizing Narvaez, he was often ignoring, Narvaez landing the clean punches in a round. Boxing is hit and not get hit. Donaire was punching guard all day and throwing little to the body, while Narvaez would land jabs, straight lefts, and the occasional right hook. It was noticeable that Donaire's head was snapping back from the punches. They were showy clean shots, and that is why I gave Narvaez those rounds.

It is mind boggling to me how the judges simply gave Donaire every round for activity, when it was clear as day that in three or four rounds at least, Narvaez outlanded him.

a superb defense is still **** without any offense.

any, and i mean ANY fighter can have a superb defense without any attempt of offense. it doesnt take a special fighter to achieve that.

anyone in here who'd commend navaez' defense is downright stupid.
