Will Marquez be in better condition this time at 144 than he was in 09 vs Floyd?

JG, these pics Popkins posted say alot.

Marquez' body is not exaclty svelte and tight.

How do you think Mayweather would do if the roles were reversed and Marquez came into that fight with his body in the shape it was in his featherweight days and it was Mayweather going up two weight divisions and walked into the ring with a body looking as soft as Marquez' was in these pics above???

Much too much emphasis on what a body looks like -- a six-pack -- shredded, mountain-top muscles, 'n on-'n-on. Donair punches a ton, but his muscles are MIA. Short of havin' one foot in the grave, all that matters is HOWYA CAN FIGHT.

JMM's thoroughbred from head-ta-toe. Sadly -- good as he is -- Floyd would always be best in show.

O noes, here come the *******s. Marquez is better, stronger and in the best shape of his life. We heard all this before with Mosley, DLH, Hatton ... You *******s are getting predictable. This Marquez has little chance against the Ped-man.

:deal Completely agree about the physique being a different matter from How You Fight.

Marquez's style will always give Pacquaio trouble. Plus add Marquezs skills, the most skilled opponent Pac has fought in a long time. i mean in the last 3 years.

I hear what you're saying JG......
Marquez did'nt add the additional weight vs Mayweather for power. I would just about guarantee he did it for strenghth and punch resistance.
Marquez is'nt a runner, so against these bigger fighters, he needs to be able to hold his ground physically by adding that weight, which in turn made him a bit sluggish vs Mayweather.

I'm not looking for Marquez to look like Hercules. I am however comparing those pics against Mayweather with the way he's looked in any of his past fights, and that fight with Mayweather is the softest I've ever seen Marquez look. There's certainly got to be some significance to that.

You may very well be right that Mayweather would always be best against Marquez, but certainly a 147 lbs matchup that occured between them is'nt what proves it.

Would love to see Mayweather two weight divisions north even against an older Sergio Martinez prove his worth the way Marquez attempted against him.
I doubt very seriously Mayweather puts himself in that position though.

Better condition, yes, but age factor negates it.
Better match up is the right term.
