Being ripped does not actually equate to being in shape boxing-wise.

When did Marquez ever came as really ripped like Tim Bradley? He has muscle definition but he never looks like a body builder.

And those that are actually ripped in the gym cannot actually run 5 miles without passing out. Pumping irons does not equate endurance.

I'm no health expert but isn't it that people's body (ie. muscles) develop differently from each other? I mean, they can go thru the same exercise regimen yet still come out differently in terms of muscle development? Isn't that why you always see infomercials with exercise machine have a disclaimer which states "Results may vary"?

He got time to fine tune his ideal weight I agreed with a previous post he needs the extra weight to absorb Pac's power.

Marquez is not shot, but the Void fan who created this thread wants you to believe that. Void is void. Void is a woman beater and a coward. Void is still running from Pac!

I fully expect Marquez to weigh about 142 at the weigh-in, some people don't know **** about boxing, this fight for JMM is gonna be about surviving and adapting to Pac's early onslaught, timing/accuracy, counter-punching and superior ring IQ, if JMM is still able to employ these tools then this fight will end like the first two close...

A younger faster and still powerful Pac couldn't KO JMM and dropped him three times in a round during the first fight, also Pac hasn't blitz anyone but Hatton who blows up 30lbs between fights guzzles beer and would probably snort Tony Montana under the table...

We all saw a 39yo Mosely be evasive against Pac, add JMM ability to counter-punch and we may have a decent fight here folks, one thing this fight will prove is has manny really improved or has it just been an illusion, I picked the latter, all I see is the same Pac who has just been match against fighters who couldn't counter (clottey-cotto), or could no longer pull the trigger (oscar-shane)...

I give JMM a good chance to make this a very competitive fight...

I am just saying, it is stupid to base how shot a fighter based on how they look.

James Toney has always a flab as well as Juan Diaz.

JMM is not exactly a body-builder physique to begin with. He always carry around the extra weight in his trunk.

If I would look like that at 38, I would be more than happy.:lol:

Only you say that Duran looked worst than that at 38 as if Duran was beating up prime time fighters when in fact he was beating up 3rd tier fighters and going life and death vs 2nd tier fighters.

Maquez isn't shot (maybe he isn't prime, but he's still got it). He doesn't look out of shape to me either - as many people have pointed out, anyone's belly can look like that while doing crunches. You can see the muscles in his arms and the rips on his stomach. I think he'll be ready come fight time. But he'll still loose.

Agreed. Trying to put on extra weight is a mistake.

Said it from the very beginning marquez can not operate effectively at WW. I'm not even sure how well his body would do at 140. The reasons both fights were close before was marquez was fighting at a natural weight for him. This time round he is way out of his comfort zone and is much older and slower.

I should have stated that Duran never looked ripped even when he was in his prime. It came out differntly.
