Duran certainly was not soft in the first Leonard fight.

Never again did Duran get himself in that kind of shape again.
Not surprising, that first Leoard fight was Duran's last win vs an elite.

Then why did Floyd fight him at 144 then come in at 146 Toby?

Fat and bloated? Threadstarter, stand up...your body will lengthen vertically. Now sit down, your body will somewhat shrivel up...now place yourself in a sit up position, you yourself will now look fat and bloated (if you're not already).

JMM should just fight at 135, who cares what Pac comes in at, do you have a clue about boxing? He is going to get rocked by Pac and he needs some weight to take the shots and keep Pac off him.

I love how *******s are turning into pretzels in this thread.

"What? Fat? he doesn't look fat. everybody looks fat from that angle. Marquez isn't too small for this weight, it doesn't matter Manny won't way much more than that"

Yeah, sure *******s. You guys also claimed that Mayweather was 165 for his fight against JMM, even though he looked the ****ing same as he did when he fought Ortiz where he weighed 150 lbs on fight night. So Mayweather being 6 pounds bigger is too much, but Pacquiao being like 3 isn't?

For what little you can make of that pic, JMM looks in reasonable shape considering the fight is 3 weeks away. Not sensatiobnal shape, but not bloated either, just ok. So what's the stir? We all know 144lbs is a little to high for JMM, but that's just how it is.

And why should JMM be shot now? He's coming off 2 good (not great) wins against Juan Diaz and Katsidis. I guess the TS is just looking to discredit JMM as an opponent here.

This. stand up look in the mirror at your belly. then sit in the same position as Marquez is in the photo and take another look at your midriff. guaranteed you will look fat around that area. Marquez is not fat or bloated idiots.

    He does look fat.
I wonder if this is indeed an up to date pic.
I recall seeing another picture of him completely ripped just a few days ago.
But still, there should be no conclusions until fight night, or at least the weigh in.

  10. The reporting ive seen shows hes on the right track, these pics are extremely unflattering position and reasonably don't look that worrying. he is going up in weight , the diet is geared for more energy then fat comes off closer to the bout. training vids show he's in great shape conditioning wise.

Ive said it about 42 times on these threads over the past week, but ill say it again.

Hes a 145 fighter. Thats what he weighs approx of fight night. Thats what he'll weigh in this fight. If hes clever he may have put on 2-3 lbs of muscle, but thats about it.

Basically he'll be the same weight as Pacquiao, like he always was.

Pacquiao isnt a wlterweight, hes a lww or even a lightweight who doesnt bother cutting weight ion the last week anymore.

    Exactly my thoughts.

Show up at the weight you are best at. Extra weight is only going to slow him down, as we saw in the Floyd fight.

Pac is going to show up a ripped 145ish weight.

JMM's best chance of a win is to not let Manny land anything huge and go for a Decision with activity, mobility and good counter punches.

My opinion is that Pac is going to come in and box for 2 rounds, try to land something big and hopes to be singing Karaoke in the lounge before the 7th round.
