Why are there no good Eastern European fighters below heavyweight?

They are tall in east europe, actually i think they are even bigger than scandinavians today compared to the population. But other sports like football might also be an answer. Much bigger sport than boxing

Keep laughing at the obvious. America has lost its way in boxing and that is so painfully clear to most US fighters and promoters too. It is a very rapid decline, while Eastern Europe is actually experiencing the fastest growth in boxing, probably out of any region. Whether you see it or not, your OP betrays a sense of being threatened.

Eastern Europeans are doing very well, fair play to them. I think the reason why they're not receiving the praise they otherwise should be getting, is because they tend to be a little bit robotic in their style of fighting, and not very exciting. Usually (especially with the heavyweights) there tends to be just the usual 1-2 combos and not much else. On the other hand mainland european fighters, such as those from UK and Ireland have a lot more variety in their arsenals.

The vast majority of the top tens below heavyweight with the exception of middleweight are filled with north American based fighters. Few if any are of eastern European stock. When the best names people are coming up with are kotelnik and pirog that says it all. Posting vids of amateurs does nothing to disprove my point. Outside heavyweight east euro fighters are weak.

I've seen more promising talent from the uk then all of east Europe. Intact it seems I'm fighters feast on east euro fighters to build their records early on

Bone, for your SNVshops i respect for you but you should know who Lomachenko is. Would love to see him turn pro.

But yes, like i have said in a few other threads, boxing really isnt the most popular or most tempting sport in any country in Europe either. I would have never been as a boxer worth anything, but i stopped boxing at 15 to focus more on football/soccer and to have some free time. Many other kids stopped boxing but continued with their ice hockey or soccer for the same reason. It's not an solely American phenomenon, people not being overly anxious to get punched in the face.

There are alot of people of Russian descent in Kazahstan. I guess half of population. Golovkin is obviously of Russian descent. Shumenov looks Asian.
