I'd have to favour Quigg at this stage, but Frampton still has a lot of time to develop - I think this one would be better a year or so down the road for Frampton, but I'd love to see it soon as.
All I know is that McGuigan needs to stop bigging him up so much, he will end up falling short very quickly.
Frampton is more skilled than Quigg, he has a defence also which a great deal of Joe G fighters don't have. Frampton also won the Ahmat Comert Multi Nations championship, which is highly regarded and thought to be the toughest tournament in Amateur boxing, the kid has vast amounts of experience.
Frampton for me, although it is a real 50/50 I think Frampton is the bigger puncher and Quigg has been down a few times, either way the fight isnt lasting the distance .
Yeah its pity Carl didnt go to the World championships that year as I feel he could have medalled imo instead he turned pro .
he could have went to the Olympics next year also but he must have a lot of belief in himself otherwise he wouldn't have turned pro early.
Quigg was taught by Brian Hughes, he has only just joined Gallaghers. He's not going to abandon his defence overnight, especially as it's something he says he takes a pride in.
HE said on the Irish thread that he didnt want to be too old turning over and he felt that 25 was too old the age he would ave been if he had waited for the Olympics .
Quigg looked very impressive Saturday but the physical advantages he enjoyed were huge. Frampton wins this every day of the week for me. Quiggs big, strong and throws great shots but he'll need more than that at top level. Frampton has the sharpness, the movement, the accuracy and the power to open up and sicken a static, flat footed Quigg. Gallagher looks to have tightened Quigg up a little defensively, but he still has a terrible habit, when defending against a flurry of shots, of leaning in with gloves high and elbows stuck out wide, gifting his body.....he'll only do that once against Frampton. Frampton tko 5th.
Yeah Big Quinny was better than i had seen him previously I suppose its easy to steam roll over a shot feather fister flyweight though.... I guess the question will be answered soon enough when this fight is made! :deal
