Matchroom have really moved Kell along nicely since he signed IMO. He's fought more regular and against better opponents. Ok there nothing special but there a damn sight better then likes of Kotey!.

  2. I wouldn't have a problem with this, in fact I'd encourage the fight in America pretty strongly, so long as the opponent isn't a complete can.

It's only a short time after his last fight, so it'll give him a bit of a work out before a big fight early next year.

I'm starting to come round to him now he's had a couple of proper tests and passed both with flying colours. Being touted as #1 in the world whilst fighting a complete bum on a DeGale undercard is both amusing and embarrassing, the last two fights will have taught him more than his previous 20 odd put together.

This trip Stateside has eight or ten rounds of solid action followed by a decent KO written all over it, make an impression.

Neither Froch or Ward are big draws, especially in Atlantic City and to my knowledge,Showtime will not televise this Brook fight.A keep busy fight yes, exposure for the press yes,but only the fans inside the Arena will see him.

Paulie or Urango would be good. Its short notice so i dont expect much more than a journeyman!! Nice its on sky though as its free, Boxnation will be ppv by then!!

Cos the money won't be there for a big opponent.

Urango has been retired for almost 2 years and was a light welter. I think Carson Jones is probably the best fighter who would take the fight.

Would make more sense having it in the UK, but it's a fight that does make sense at the moment.

Exposure ain't going to be great as I can't see any chance of getting Kell on US tv on this date, surely showtime are going to spend the hour or so they allocate for the boxing to be all about Ward vs Froch, they will show fight camp 360 latest installments and if they show any of the undercard it is going to a US fighter, unless Kell is up against a well know unbeaten US fighter and can't see that happening.

I think he is world class and will win a belt... Prospect maybe in his 10th fight pretty much the whole of Britain has known his potential...

No, you don't. He was a legitimate top welterweight who held better wins than Brook did. Granted, that says a lot about how poor welter now is, but peeps are seriously underrating that Jackiewicz because of how dominant Brook was.

Since winning the British young boxer of the year award in 09 his career hasnt progressed perfectly, he's had legal problems & fell out with W@rren

Matchroom are investing a lot in Kell & his US debut wont be against anyone great, probably a fading "name" or a local journeyman

Still its a good experience & as always I look forward to seeing him in action, nice to see him keeping busy

It was interesting that the piece on Barker in the Mail the other day mentioned that Matchroom lost £35k on the Barker-Spada promotion. I do wonder how much these last couple of Brook defences have cost them. :think
