Having fought only twice since his 2009 victory over Amir Khan’s next opponent, Lamont Peterson, Timothy Bradley steps back into the ring after ten months out of action. Having been stripped of his WBC title, as issues with his managment meant a fight with Amir Khan didn’t happen, Bradley will be looking to focus on in ring activities as he tries to position himself for a fight with Manny Pacquiao.

Having recently signed with Bob Arum’s Top Rank, Bradley can now move on from his difficulties with Gary Shaw. Now in arguably the perfect place to position himself for that Pacquiao fight, Bradley was adamant that his main priority was to sign for a company prepared to back him and he’s made the right move.

“It validates we made the right decision. We're on a new start, a new beginning at this point in my career. I'm happy to be here. My job now is I have to continue to win, take care of business and it will make their job easier.”

Bradley will want to prove he is still the number 1 in the Light Welterweight division. To do that he’ll need to defend his WBO title against former two division champion Joel Casamayor.

It is likely no coincidence that Arum has immediately match Bradley with a southpaw, who at 40 is in the twilight of his career, on the undercard of a Pacquiao main event. A convincing win from Bradley, with a significant TV exposure, will likely catapult him towards the front of the queue waiting for a career making shot at the world’s number 1 ranked fighter.

Whether Bradley’s career path will lead to Amir Khan, Manny Pacquiao or both remains to be seen, but in either case British fans will be eager to see Bradley return to action this November.

Pacquiao vs Marquez III sees the World’s best pound for pound fighters return to Primetime this November. The card is completed by Luis Cruz vs Juan Burgos for the NABO Super Featherweight championship.
