M, I tried "hitting" on Abe Attell, but he was too shifty...
A little tidbit on Attell. Many years ago when TV first broadcast bouts on our little 10" screen, I would often see Attell in the audience,as the camera would focus on celebrity's then,Abe Attell would stand up and block and dodge the punches in the ring,as if he was back fighting,40 or so years before. My dad would get a kick out of that .

But, wait. Wasn't Cervantes the linear champion at the time too?

    It actually makes eight...

I was watching Q.I. yesterday. If there is no direct consequence to changing the sequence of events, then according to Einstein it can happen. As now does not exist...

So in this instance, as there is no direct consequence, 2+2 can equal eight...;)

    There is direct consequence however.

Changing to 2+2=8 would imply that 1+1=4.

    So then (1+1) + (1+1) = 4 + 4 which then which then implies that 4 + 4 = 4 + 4 which in turn implies that 1 + 1 = 1 + 1 which contradicts the initial premise.

The ring axioms aren't satisfied and the whole world of mathematics as we know goes kaplow.

But my work here would ignored by serious mathematicians, so it has no direct consequence. But you have a point so perhaps I should have said in this instance two plus two equals eight.:good

Either way the fact I am actually writing another post on this, kind of proves lora's point.

Well I didn't ignore it and it directly led to my response which by definition was a consequence. Also if 2+2=8 for you it equals 8 for all which brings us back to kaplow

Contrary is fun :good although in my egotistical mind I feel it was a direct response to me calling lewis a paper champ in 98 despite having the lineal title :good
